I've read several posts where people are strapping Marvin into the electric chair and hooking up the electrodes.  Might I remind you all that we have only gotten vague reports from media outlets, and nothing substantial from the police other than he's being interviewed and has not been charged, and nothing from the NFL or the Colts because they have both stated that they don't know any more than we do.  Speculating on what the media is scooping does not make you appear smart.  Remember, they're the guys that bury their retractions in the farm report.  THEY'RE NOT ACCOUNTABLE!  How about wait and see what the whole story is before you become judge, jury, and executioner.

Sheesh!

AGREED Speedblue, it's getting really ridiculous reading some of these posts by people.  Not one article states the gun used/found at the car wash is the gun that Marvin owns, yeah maybe the same type. I also read that the shooting took place several blocks from the club, after the guy (was probably escorted out club) left. Everyone should just relax and wait for the investigators to do thier job and make all this sensationalism a memory.

All of us Colts fans should get out on the threads dogging Harrison as being another NFL thug, and show our support for one of the greatest Colts of all time by trying to keep the BS to a minimum.

People just hate us because we never have gotten in trouble before. Although, he might not even be the person that fired the shot. The police just said that no one is a suspect, and they're questioning every witness.

Speed, you're right. But I've read some belligerent statements supporting Marvin too (without the facts). Support is one thing but you shouldn't make some remarks that overstate you're support.  And God forbid Harrison is really involved, we will look foolish.

Hey clutch, agree with you! Colts fans have never really been put in this situation. And it's two in a row from Indy with Kenton Keith and Marvin Harrison! How our fan base reacts will go a long way toward our reputation. We need to take the position of "waiting for the facts" before we defend or condemn our players. Although I must admit, this appears ludicrous when you mention Marvin and shooting in the same sentence.

We need to take the position of "waiting for the facts" before we defend or condemn our players.

Colts fans this is exactly the approach to follow. (is that an oxymoron?)

Anyhow, Marvin Harrison has been a solid citizen and excellent ball player for the Colts. He deserves the courtesy and respet of the wait and see philosiphy. The Colts orginization stands head and shoulders above most in this area.

Good luck to Marvin and the devoted Colts fans...

GO Chargers

Wait and see.  Simple enough.  Any idiot that is committing himself to guilty or not guilty is just that....an idiot.  None of us personally know these NFL players or what they are capable of.  I personally like Marvin Harrison for what he represents to me on the field and how he conducts himself as a professional.  I would be disappointed if he were involved, however, as stated in original post lets not be "hooking the electrodes up yet."  Wait until all the information is out and somebody is prosecuted and convicted for the crime.  That is how the criminal justice system works in this country last time I checked.

A shocking amount of intelligence and insight in your post.  It almost even sounded like english you used instead of some Tennessee hick language.

I would not be surprised if this is quietly dropped.  Not that Marvin Harrison didnt fire the gun, I think he did.  But no one was seriously hurt.  The wounded man only had a minor hand wound and it will heal.  He doesnt want to name who did it.  There is supposedly another witness but he isnt coming forward.  It would be difficult to get a conviction with no witnesses who would testify.

I'm very disappointed that people judge a person that harsh.

Maybe because the Colts rarely have character issues.

I also hope that no Colts player get themselves in some kind of controversy to avoid anymore distraction because the beggining of the season is coming.

As a Patriots fan, I know I'm not loved here.

But the facts are the facts.  And the facts are the following: Marvin Harrison was apparently questioned regarding a shooting; and he owns at least one firearm.

That's it.  There have been no arrests, he was not detained - wouldn't he be detained if he was a serious candidate?

I agree with many people out there, in that I think that far too many athletes are found with firearms, and often used inappropriately.  However, this is to my knowledge the first time Marvin Harrison's name has been mentioned in association with anything illegal.  I think that the whole "innocent until proven guilty" concept needs to apply here.

(And no, I have not missed the irony of a Patriots fan posting this on a Colts board.)

I don't think anyone will look foolish who do not rush to judgment.  I will not do so, and allow things to progress in the manner that the police and the courts deem necessary.

Good luck if you are innocent, Marvin.

I agree, Speculating on what the media is scooping does not make you appear smart. I would also argue that having "blind loyalty" doesn't help in this situation either. I love Marvin Harrison, but from what we have heard so far (argument between harrison and victim, shots fired from harrison's gun, gun found at Harrison's car wash shortly afterward) it doesn't sound good.
