I believe Cabrera has broken out finally. He is no longer the mad monster on the mound anymore, who gets mad. He is relaxed and doesn't bother with men on base, who used to bug the crap out of him.

5 straight quality starts for Cabrera. I believe he has come out of the shell and has been our ace this year.

About the approach to the plate. Yesterday was horrible. IAlthough, plenty of Garland's pitches were down the middle of the plate and we swung freely at it. FOX did an interview with Trembley, and he said he is trying to teach these kids(and older players) the fundamentals like patience at the plate, whioch is something we really need from the line-up today against Joe Saunders.

Yeah, a little more patience and we may have gotten to Garland. Huff really urked me when we had a runner on second and one out. He had a 3-1 count and swung at a ball low and inside headed towards his ankles and bounced out to first instead of taking the walk. Stuff like that is why we lost that game yesterday.

Agreed about Cabrera. The thing I needed to see from him was using off-speed pitches to get guys out and keep them off his fastball. This change was immediate starting in his third start of the year against the Rays. He has a nice slider and a change-up with some really good downward movement. This is the DC we've been waiting for and he is definitely here to stay. I would be very surprised if he wasn't. At this rate, Cabrera will be our ace next year followed by Guthrie and perhaps Burres. I didn't expect BB to do so well so soon, but he's doing it and like Cabrera, he looks like a different pitcher this year. If only we could keep the bats going. It looks like the vets are going to need time to get into the swing of things and hopefully, that is soon. Despite the poor plate discipline, Huff has hit for pretty good power and Mora has been driving in runs, but we're still not clicking on all cylinders.. yet. Hopefully when the bats kick up, the pitching is still in full effect.

I'm disappointed the O's lost but atleast I really got to see what Cabrera had. Some of his strikeouts where just filthy pitches that hitters took swings at.

Great job by the offnse on getting to Saunder early.

Here goes Trachsel, ruining a good 2 run lead. Vlad on 3rd, Kotch on 2nd, 1 out, Mathews hit a solo shot to start the game for the Angels.

It sure helps that Olson had his coming out party and I agree Trachsel shouldn't be in the rotation anymore. That would probably mean Albers steps in as I think Johnson needs to be stretched out some more. Let him go 4-5 innings in long relief if possible because I doubt his stamina is such that would allow him to go five unless he worked fast. I'd rather see Albers than Trachsel at this point. Matt is coming back to earth a bit, but it's still better than Trax and at least Matt has upside.

Plus, we are in a youth movement. So going to Matt who should be a starter and not a bullpen tool is definitley a better option.

Trachsel sucks in every aspect of the game.

I wouldn't mind signing Rodrigo Lopez when he gets healthy to add some depth if we dump Trachsel.

Well, just when it looked like he cooled down, he delivers a home run to Robb "frikin' Quinlan.
