First off let me say that I am in no way a USF fan. I actually don't like them at all. But here in FL people are starting to talk about the early season match up with Kansas. Obviously living in FL the views are heavily slanted. What do the Kansas fans think? Is this even an exciting game for you?
Trust me, the Kansas football squard is eager to go out and get and W against anybody.
This year will be the year of validation, will KU be able to continue their winning ways without defensive spark plug Aqib Talib? Will the Offensive Line hold up without Anthony Collins?
A lot of questions will be answered this year, and USF should be a good game.
This is a Friday night nationally televised primetime game. I would expect a non conference game between two ranked teams to be exciting for true college football fans and not just KU and USF fans.
We are not scared to play anyone. After years of facing a "murders row" and getting slaughtered against the likes of Nebraska, Oklahoma, OK-State, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, etc. We can either give a good game or beat anyone in the conference now.
USF is a very good football team but we all fully expect to win. In fact I think we are more concerned with Tech and OU being on the schedule this year more then anything.
weary not fearfull. USF did come to Memorial Stadium and hang with KU for 4 quarters (granted it was what 2 years ago and this team has come a long way), and we all know what they did early last year. So no they won't fear anyone but they will be cautious with this game
It figures that a UCF fan would start a discussion like this.
For those of you who don't know, USF has beaten UCF's football team every time we've played them in what started as a rivalry a few years ago. 2008 is our last year to hear from them as we are upgrading and trading UCF in for Miami in a home and away Thanksgiving Weekend game that will turn into a National Showdown of two Top 25 teams for years to come.
As far as the game against Kansas ...the Jayhawks are a great team and it will be a tough game. I'm happy to hear that some fans are focusing on the other traditional match-ups. Unfortunately, the Kansas coached won't be that naive. I predict that it will be a close game but that in our house Kansas goes down and South Florida rides that momentum all the way to the final game showdown for the Big East title against WVU.
