The Brewers released Derrick Turnbow.

He's had a rough year but he is ten times the pitcher that Joe Borowski is. He's still in his twenties and can throw heat. Perhaps the Tribe can release Borowski to get him.

hmmmm thats a tough one, He loses his job to Eric Gagne and then gets released. I think its an option to atleast explore. Cant hurt! A pitcher can throw heat allday but if he cant locate it what good is it? He is young and a change of scenary could do him good. Other peoples trash is someone elses treasure! Go tribe

Eric Gagne was my favorite Red Sox pitcher in the playoffs last year. That was one of the best memories from that disappointing series... Batting practice in extra innings.

It'd be good to pick up somebody at this point. Maybe put some pressure on some of those guys to return to form!

Turnbow is a relief pitcher's form of Dontrelle Willis. He is living off of what he did a few years ago. Turnbow was terrible this year, bad last year, and terrible in 2006. There was a reason he was released. I wouldn't care much for the pickup.

Anybody has  to be better than Borowski except Betancourt ! The Tribe has a better chance letting the other team hit of a tee than to expect this guy to get anybody out.So why not give Turnbow a shot ,It's the Tribe's only weakness

When you've scored 3 or fewer runs in half your games than the closer is not your only weakness.

You're right, our hitters aren't even going to give the bullpen a chance to get a save in the game.  Our closer role is a weakness right now, but our hitting is a MUCH bigger problem right now.

I agree, our hitting is a much bigger problem, however, at this point we need to try something. That's the thing with bullpens. Great one year, crappy the next. Which is why we need a proven dominant closer. For now, I say give Masa Kobayashi a chance. He's pitched well and has closing experience.

An option you could possibly see (maybe not this year, but nothing is impossible) is Adam Miller.  He's a starter but has had trouble staying healthy and durability may be an issue with him (kinda like Joba).  He can get it up to 100 (especially if only called on for 1 inning).  Probably won't see him in the closers role this year.....but don't rule out a callup to the pen sometime this year.

Yeah, not sure that Turnbow would be a solid replacement, considering he was just released, for one.  I wouldn't mind seeing Masa stepping in there, for a few tries just to
