team at this level had issues......................Again, on Florida I absolutely agree. On Auburn and Tennessee not so much.
BD - my view; it's not that there are teams ranked below Auburn and Tennessee that should be ranked ahead of them in a B/W, absolute kind of way. There are over 15 teams from BCS conferences with 9 or 10 wins and 3 or 4 losses. They all land in the rankings between #11 and barely outside of the Top 25. I think the point is that (as you state) there are issues with every one of these teams, and you could probably play "Team A beat Team B who beat Team C" all day long with this group - meaning, there's no real difference between #23 and #17, or even #12.
You can make a reasonable case for all but a few of these teams for a Top 15 ranking. So the statement, "Team A beat five Top 15 teams and Team B beat only one" really doesn't mean anything. For at least 2007, all the teams "ranked" between #11 and #25 are far more alike than they are different.

I don't concur at all. We just will have to agree to disagree. I want to play a representative OOC schedule. For UGA it means Georgia Tech and one other OOC BCS opponent. It not only is good for the team it is good for recruiting. I have seen enough of the directional schools and if I am paying the price to get on the season ticket list not to mention the cost of game tickets, I want to get some quality opponents.
Agreed, BigDawgs.
Speaking just as a fan, why would you want see your team play the likes of Akron, Youngstown St., North Texas, Tulane etc...? Wouldn't you rather like to see them play BCS teams? I know I would. I'm not getting overly excited for Akron and YSU, but USC and Texas? Yep.
It seems that most of the fans are interested in defending their team's crappy OOC schedules, instead of being pissed about it and disappointed in the AD. There are certain requirements that AD's need to meet for a powerhouse program......7 home games is one. Nothing wrong with that. But there is no reason to not have at least one BCS team on the schedule every year. Two would be better. And if it is only one, then make it a good one.

tOSU has two games this year. And will probably lose both of them. I just dont understand the logic.
Do me a favor and tell me which two games they play, so I can ignore the rest of them and save my time lol
What a genius.

LOL. The reality of the situation is not only are you using opinionated, biased rankings again, but now you are saying "top 15". Not top 10
OK...we were the only team to beat an OOC top-10 team (BTW, thanks V. Tech for accepting a 48-7 thrashing) in the regular season and the only team to beat 2 top-10 teams period.

Couple of points gobucks,
First, you cannot blame LSU for scheduling Tulane. They are the natural in state rival. The fact they aren't particularly good right now is no more LSU's fault than it is Purdue's fault that Indiana usually isn't good. So I don't think Tulane belongs in the discussion.
Second, we are going to find out very quickly about the 7 home game deal. USC generally has 6 home games and seem to do ok. We go the next 10 years with only 6 home games. There have been some discussion that it will hurt UGA financially. We will have to see, but we will find out starting this year.

Come on Tall. LSU is great, but the stars lined up for them this year. I would have love to seen USC vs LSU or Georgia. Hopefully this year.
Yep, the stars aligned for us this year....but, we had the best team in the country when we were healthy....which is why we beat V. Tech 48-7 and OSU 38-24.
I would love to see LSU vs USC for the Title this year....2nd choice (if LSU doesn't make it) would be UGA vs USC.
