Many of you Eagles fans probably have never heard of Joe Mays. I am here to tell you we got one hell of a player. I am an NDSU season ticket holder and I can tell you one thing, this guy knocks that crap out of people. He can shed blocks, find the ball carrier and knock him off his feet. The only reason that he went in the sixth round is because he is 5'11''. I make a prediction that he is starting by game 9. He is that good.
Well you certainly make him sound like a diamond on the rough. He will have quite a hill to climb to be starting by game 9. Our young linebackers are all lined up in their spots and aren't going to give up those jobs without a fight. This was something I was talking about a few months ago when I said we needed to draft a linebacker or two to light a fire under the butts of the guys with the starting jobs. I hope he keeps them on their toes.
Your really vouching for this guy huh? Well you got my attention ill keep a ear/eye out for this guy. "Strong little bastard" we can do better than that-
starting by 9 games? wow... that's gonna be tough. He'd have to really impress in camp. if he makes the team and is a solid back up and special teamer.. i'll be happy.
the guy i'm most excited for is Demps. Might not see him as much this year, but when Dawk decides to hang up the cleats i think we'll have a fast, athletic, strong, smart football player to take his spot. This is the perfect guy to match up against Cooley, Witten, Boss, Shockey, etc.
Sounds like an awesome special team player until he is primed for linebacker. If he is on a mission, the Eagles can reap the turnovers he can provide in his jarring hits.
The Eagles are fine on offense. Start thinking for yourself and stop mumbling the same things as the rest of the lemmings. We have plenty of weapons and the offense (Brian Westbrook, Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, DeSean Jackson, L.J. Smith, oh yeah and that quarterback Donovan McNabb) will be fine. We need better play on special teams and a strong defense to win. The O will work it self out.
ok first off boogieman u should read my post more carefully. i didnt say that the Eagles didnt need help on special teams or defense. i said that Joe Mayscould help on defense and special teams. nowhere in my post did i state that the eagles didnt need help on special teams and defense. that would be absurd because every team could always use help on any side of the ball. so stop putting words in my mouth. secondly, i am sorry to break it to ya, but the eagles have a much deeper team than the Redskins. dont expect the redksins to sneak into the playoffs again this year, i think i can see them in last place in the nfc east.
and you mvkrum. ill start off by saying that i like reading most of your posts, and they are usually good well reasoned posts. and i will also tell you that i am an Eagles fan if you dont already know. now when you say that the eagles are fine on offense, i will have to disagree with you. now, this has nothing to do with talent, but health. 2 years ago, the eagles were #2 in total yards of offense, and #5 in ppg. now even with the injury to mcnabb that year, the o-line stayed healthy, and that was the main reason for the good offense. last year, the o-line had injuries, and that was the main reason the eagles were #6 in total yards, and #17 in ppg. so if the o-line can stay healthy this year, and so cant mcnabb, i think its possible to think we can be a top 5 offense again. now i agree with you when you say that we need help on special teams, and i think the addition of deshaun jackson should help wonders. now the defense i think is all set. with the addition of samuel, clemons, and Trevor Laws, the eagles d is going to be alot better than last year. they have a young defense, and our linebackers are only going to get better through experience. so if the eagles can stay healthy on offense, then i agree with you that they should pull together.
Oh. Sorry. I just figured that you were one of the Eagles fans on this board that don't post often, but when they do they beat the same dead wide receiver horse. I can see now that you are not THAT fan. Thank you for that. I totally agree with everything you said in that last post. I believe that most of the problems that we had on offense were more injury and inconsistancy related than a lack of talent. Hopefully our O-line can stay healthy and pave the way for another good running season and keep Donovan McNabb from getting injured (at least within the pocket).
I will also vouch for this guy. I am a huge bison fan and watch as many games as i can and everytime i see them play this dude makes every single tackle. He's a sure tackler and he hits like a truck. I can't wait to see how he plays this year and the years to follow. Good pick philly
