1st off, as a Cowboys fan I'm not trying to stir up any trouble and I have to give credit where it's due for a great Super Bowl run by the Giants.  With that said, how do Giants fans think the confidence from winning the Super Bowl will effect them at the start of next season?  I was listening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio this morning he was talking about how psychology effects teams.  Will they be too overconfident and think just showing up will win them games and start off slow and lose some games they shouldn't?  Or will the confidence help them play like the team that showed up in the playoffs and establish themselves as a contender again?  As a Cowboys fan I would hope for the former so they dig themselves a hole in the start of the year, but I dont know how it'll actually effect them.  It's an interesting dynamic that I never thought of before and I was wondering how Giants fans feel about this.  Either way it should be a wild year in the NFC East.

If they're smart, now that they've visited the idiot president, last year will be forgotten, because it should have no bearing on what we do this year. Gotta be as hungry and determined as if we hadn't won. We're the hunted now so teams are gonna be givin us their best shot all year, so we gotta bring it raw week in and week out...

I don't think it should be a problem, didn't seem to affect Indy last year did it ? If I'm not mistaken they were undefeated until the Pats game they choked on in the 4th qtr. ? Hell look how we came out last year when we really should've been hungry, like the worst team in football for 2 1/2 games, I'm pretty sure we will show a marked improvement over that. First 3 games before the bye are I think Wash., @ St Louis, Cinci ? I see no reason we don't come out of the gate 3-0. Certainly any worse than 2-1 and yes we've come out horribly flat, but I think we like winning, you could see the way the team transformed last yr. in the playoffs when the confidence and cockiness set in. I don't think that swagger is going to disappear anytime soon.

everyone forgets that the first two games of last year where against the 2 best teams in the NFC: Dallas and Green Bay. The Giants will start the season like the good team that they are. The confidence will be their and so will the talent.

The system is not new to the D any more, and Eli has had that much more time to build a relationship with the young guys on offense. I predict one hell of a game on Nov. 2

Well, its always nice to see a Cowboys fan that can come in and act civil on our boards, welcome. Now that that's out of the way, I don't see the Giants coming out overconfident this year. If they were a really young team or had they blown everyone out on their way through the playoffs, I might be concerned, but when you have a veteran team that had to fight through every game in the playoffs the way the Giants did this year, it's just going to be hard to put in your mindset that all we have to do now is show up. Strahan, Pierce, Toomer, and I would even say Manning at this point would be wise enough to know better and smart enough to put any of the younger players who might head in that direction in their place.

As a Giants fan I don't think they will go into the season overconfident at all. In fact i think they will go into next season with a chip on their shoulder. Why you might ask? For the simple fact that no one is giving them the credit they deserve for winning it all. I hear more people say that the Patriots blew their opportunity than the Giants actually played better.  The Giants won the Super Bowl and i guarantee people will take the Cowboys  to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 43. Only time will tell but until then it's all about the G-MEN!!!

In no way will the Giants be over confident. part of the giants superbowl win was due to their

mental toughness, the giants relish being doubted or looked down on upon. they feed and

love people not supporting them as they manage to use this information to  their advantage.

the truth is the giants dont want to be supported and held in high esteem.During several

interviews Antonio Pierce said he didnt want anybody supporting them and even this year

during an in terview, Sam Madison said the media are not even giving a chance to defend

their title so rest assured , they will use this information  to their advantage and create this

sort of us against the world attitude.....

honestly even though i say i hate that the giants dont get any respect ... secretly I

LOVE IT

I gotta be honest here having to  face Marion Barber, Bryant Westbrook and Clinton Portis twice a year, im a little perplexed on where we are going with our lb corps.  I am not very happy about it.  It looks as if it will be Kiwanuka-Pierce-Wilkerson with not much depth.

I think the Giants will start off well next year but it would not surprise me if the Giants struggled in the begginning of the year. Lets not  forget that over the last few years, these Giants teams have played both up and down to whoever their competition was.
