whatever, im done wasting my time with you.  I know more about about basketball than you do and I am better at it than you, end of story.  You must play the sport enough to truly understand the game and your inability to cross people up is probably a laundry list full things you can't do on a basketball court.

Back to the topic......... If Rick leaves then you have no one to blame but Caracter, Clark, and Sosa's immaturity and this being "the toughest team to coach in his 30 years of coaching"

Thank You Diehard!!!  It's sad to think that a team got to the Elite Eight and underacheived, but that is probably the way Pitino feels. However, if he went back to the NBA, he'd have 13 Sosas, Characters, etc to contend with. Remember Latreell Sprewell and P.J.? I expect Pitino back and I think he expects a Final Four.

sorry to get off topic guys.  the most knowledgable basketball fan in the united states and probably the best basketball player besides jordan wouldn't leave me alone.  i think he was just upset because he wanted pitino to go back to the pros so the nba would actually have a good coach.  i don't think he's going, he's already filthy rich and i believe he would rather try to become one of the greatest college coaches of all time than spend a few unproductive seasons in the nba again.

im not the most knowledgable basketball fan and I am no where near the best basketball player.  I just know more about the game than you do and am better at the game than you as well.  Thats all I said.  I am not upset that he isn't in the NBA, hell, I could care less what he does with his life.  I am just saying that you would think that competitive drive would fuel him to succeed at the highest level.  I think that is the ultimate goal, to win an NBA championship.  I am trying to be respectful here.  I am not bashing you, I am just telling you the truth.  I respect what you do but I also know that I know the game more than you, which is the truth.

A lot of the correct points have been made here. NBA and Pitino aren't going to happen. He has a great situation in Louisville with a potential Final Four team next year and a brand new arena coming in a city that supports the team as well as anywhere in the country.

Most of this speculation has started with Gregg Doyel's totally unsubstantiated article. He is a complete unreliable and unethical douchebag when it comes to Pitino and good journalism. I think Pitino stole his girlfriend or something. At least he seems to behave like a scorned woman when it comes to Coach Pitino. This article is dated 4/27/08:

http://www.nypost.com/seven/04...t_me_108361.htm

"Don't get me wrong. I'm not mad at Caracter. You ask me, he's welcome to stay at Louisville as long as he wants. His continued presence makes Pitino look awful, and I'm all about anything that makes Pitino look awful."

That is an actual quote from this Douchebag Doyel article: http://cbs.sportsline.com/columns/story/10532738

Nice journalistic integrity jacka**!! CBS ought to rein this guy in. He is not helping their credible reputation at all.
