Am I wrong to worry

Gaither only had 5 starts before he became the starter last year and was able to transition so quickly because he had the smarts to go along with his physical ability - same with gocong.  They both went through some growing pains and made some mistakes but overall looked pretty good. 

Bradley is from the same mould - a big smart kid - I think that he will make some mistakes but I think that he will be fine. 

One of the problems the Eagles have is that they usually only keep 6 LB's and if you add in Boiman and Jordan (another young one who needs to mature) there is not much room to add another veteran.  Spikes was certainly too pricey as a backup and had lost too much of a step last season to remain the starter.  Maybe the birds will bring spikes back i no other jobs materialize but alot depends on how much they like the new kids.  Studebaker looks like he may be at worst a good ST player which is a necessity for your backup LB's.

I think the three starters will make mistakes but eventually are gonna be one of the strongpoints on the Defense.

I think a lot of Eagles' fans asked this very same question when they chose to let Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor go in favor of starting the "young" tandem of Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown. That worked out just fine...

Apprehension by fans is normal when they release veterans in favor of younger players, however, how are these guys supposed to ever become starters if they never play?

I dont think your wrong to be worrisome

I like the starters and I kinda like Boiman but, on a whole this unit is not deep at all.  Maybe Jordan steps up and can be a player but, I dont like the depth here one bit. 

It wouldnt suprise me at all to see them bring in someone - dont know who is out there though.  I just know it wont be Spikes - he didnt want to play in a reduced role nor at a reduced rate.
