With the personnel the Packers now have on the offensive side of the ball, I think this may very well be one of the toughest teams to prepare for in the entire NFL. With 2 fullbacks, 2 TEs that can stretch the field and 6 legitimate recieving threats, not to mention Ryan Grant, they very well might not be the most talented team, but there are formations the Packers will throw out there that many teams might only face against the Packers. 5 wide is not common, passing out of a 2 tight end formation, 2 fullbacks thus having power to both sides of the line and probably a host of others that I have yet to think about. Most teams know what to do against 4 wide, and instictively think run with 2 tight ends and many teams don't even have 1 legitimate fullback, let alone 2. If Aaron Rodgers is half the QB that Favre was and the Offensive line holds up, this looks like an offense that can really put up some points and create nightmares for opposing cooridinators.

Well, I'm happy to burst your bubble, because Aaron Rodgers isn't half the QB Favre was. Also, he's a rookie, and rookies don't handle complexity very well (much less a formidable D-line like the Vikings), so all of these fancy sets that you are dreaming up are actually going to be a hindrance to Rodger's development.....besides, your draft wasn't really that good. Brohm was a decent pickup, but too bad talent isn't cumulative....you're still stuck starting a rookie QB.

Aaron Rodgers isn't quite a rookie he has been in a nfl game or two. So he has seen the speed of the game. I think that a qb who has been in the league for 3 years can't be a rookie. don't be fooled by his lack of starting experience

you're still stuck starting a rookie QB. This from a fan of a team who will be starting Tarvaris Jackson who by the way has been in the NFL one season less than Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has had years to develop, learn the system, adjust to the speed of the NFL, and gain confidence. This isn't the typical rookie QB being thrown into the fire.

You give us a snapshot of a true Viking fan. This picture is one of a want-to-be football fan that knows nothing about football.
Rodgers is not a rookie. He has been in the league for three years. He knows our system and the NFL. He will be fine at picking up anything defenses throw at him. He has had a great teacher in Farve and a great QB coach in McCarthy.
Don't you think it very funny that our 2nd and possibly 3rd string will be better than any QB on your roster. Jackson would make an average college QB this year. Not a pro QB. Hope Booty works out for you because you have nothing else.

I doubt that John David Booty will be the answer for the Vikings and I would never hope for him to do well. The scouting report proves my own personal assessment of him: he was a system quarterback. There was nothing extraordinary about him; he just benefitted from a good coach. Even Matt Leinart has yet to succeed in the NFL, and he is more highly touted than Booty. Your receivers don't provide much hope for him anyway. Bernard Berrian has not been a first receiver in Chicago so he has yet to play opposite a number one corner. Sidney Rice is young and has yet to prove himself. Who else do you have? I doubt that Booty is any better than Tarvaris Jackson. I'm so happy that we stole Brian Brohm from your team, though your GM had a chance. Maybe he was too busy overpaying average Wide Receivers and giving away important picks for DE Jared Allen. While I think Allen is a good defensive end, I don't see him that much better than Aaron Kampman. You could have gotten more talent with those extra picks.
Now, concerning Aaron Rodgers, how can you say he is a rookie quarterback? You do realize that NFL experience goes beyond the field. It also involves films study and practice and learning the system while being prepared by the coaching staff. A rookie only has a couple of months of NFL football knowledge. You do realize that some teams keep the players on the bench long enough for them to learn from the starters before they play. Throwing them in the fire sometimes has its drawbacks. Not playing does not make someone a rookie. They still have other ways of adjusting, through practice and study.
Now, regarding the topic at hand, I completely agree. This is a point I made on other threads: Mike McCarthy has so many options now for different formations. He can make it really difficult for opponents on and off the field. Greg Jennings. Donald Driver. James Jones. Koren Robinson. Ruvell Martin. Jordy Nelson (who also can throw the ball pretty well). Ryan Grant. Donald Lee. Jermichael Finley. There are many opportunities with these weapons and they should all make Aaron Rodgers job easier.
What do the Vikings have? Jackson? He does not have as many weapons. Adrian Peterson can't carry that offense because defenses can stack up against him. He also started to struggle some after his injury. So we are back to Booty (what a name). He is a rookie and does not have the weapons Rodgers has. Did I forget to mention who the scouting report compares him too? He was another good system college QB who struggled in the NFL: Patrick Ramsey. What did he do? Does that inspire much hope?

Guys, Guys...... a little reality check here.........
YES, The Packers have surrounded Rodgers w/ talent. HE'S NOT FAVRE, But he should do well. Maybe 58% 3500 Yds 19TD 15 INT........ By no means horrible.
He has had a great teacher in Farve and a great QB coach in McCarthy.
But realisticly, he has had 3 Years to mature, He had arguably the Best QB ever to Learn from. But Favre was far from a Mentor.
If Rodgers learned anything from Favre, it was Observation Based. Favre is well known for not Mentoring younger Players.... especially QB's (Ask Hasselbeck)
Just My 2 Cents.........

I agree with Capone.
Rodgers does have a lot of receiving talent to work with and will probably put up Okay numbers next year.
However, something that would worry me if I were a Packer fan is that they could enter the season with a stable of quarterbacks that have zero NFL starts combined. That would be a huge gamble and could easily backfire...
Also just a little help to my friend Gopackgo:
many teams don't even have 1 legitimate fullback
many teams primarily employ single back sets and don't have/require a fullback
