I was actually one of the guys who thought the change of teams, and the change of teams alone would benefit an average driver to get a win (or two)....ALA  casey mears.

After tuning into the #24's radio the whole race at "DEGA" I watched gordon pull out of line with about 20 to go and nobody came with him.  At the time the most likely drafting partner would have been.....you guessed it 88.  but instead he stayed in line.  Jeff keyed his mic, and said  "What the hell is he doing?  we're teammates if he don't come with me now will he ever?   In short I think I'm beginning to see what the problem at DEI was afterall.

At least after horrble starts 24 and 48 are starting to climb the standings to put themselves where we all know they will be after 36 races 1st and 2nd, but at least their so called teammate looks like (barring a right hand turn at daytona) making the chase this year.

Instead of just writing garbage, why don't you say "I hate Jr because he is the most popular driver in NASCAR"

Why is it that everytime someone sounds off about Junior, We always get answers like the one above.  Yes, Junior is your favorite driver, I got that.. But he is also a very selfish teammate.. Anyone from Martin Truex to Tony Euro, Jr. (if he will admit it).. can contest to this.   P.S. BobPav....  Do you also pull for the Cowboys and the Yankees? Just wonderin.

Ok Im not afraid to admit, as is obvious with most my posts I dont like Jr.  and I think he is the most overrated, overhyped, silver spoon, living off daddys name driver in the circuit.

That being said maybe im a little too hard on the guy, but why wont any jr. fans step up to the plate and admit it.   2 years without a win and people are talking about championships, it makes me laugh.  Im not saying he's talentless, because if that was the case kerry earnhart, kenny wallace, and bobby hamilton jr would all have full time rides and they dont he definately deserves a ride.  And he may even make 50% of the chases, but I gaurantee you over half the Jr. fans on this site think he is the best driver on the circuit.

Truth is hes arguably top ten and cant even hold the jocks of 20,17,24,48,99,11,31,shall i go on?  these guys each individually are favorites to win respectively at numerous tracks a year,  88 isnt.  And if they all had 2 years losing streaks (which would never happen, to talented) and jr. had 4-5 wins in that time (as they all do), yall would be saying what I am only in reverse.  and that is a fact.

I also heard early in the race, that Gordo wanted to lead a lap, and Junior told him to go on when he got a run, and Gordo never got that good of a run.  I don't necessarily think that was a deliberate slight on either part!

Funny thing is wasn't Gordon the one who whined about Jr. pushing him last year???  "He's pushing me too hard".  If memory serves me the 24 pushed others at Daytona while the 48 was pushing the 88.  It takes a lot of help to win at these races and there is a reason that no one ever wants to help the 24, one way streets don't get you anywhere.

Kato as a Jr fan i will agree and disagree with you. First off i will say eys Jr a very selfish teamate at restrictor plate racetracks.  I hope Rick Jeff and Jimmie take Jr aside say look we are not some second rate driver and you don't run things here like you did at DEI and tell him if he does what he did this past weekend again it will be a rough ride for Jr. I will also agree that he is the most overhyped driver in NASCAR. I can say that not Jr fault can't blame the man for taking the cash he is offered to advertise a company and it's not like Jr going out asking the media to follow him all day every day. I will disagree he the most overrated silver spoon living off his daddy name driver in NASCAR. Personally i believe that honor goes to Kyle Petty. Did Jr get his DEI ride cause of daddy sure but talent is what got him into HMS. Only reason Petty still has a ride is cause he drives for his dad.

As for two years without a win and fans are talking Championship is becauuse it is possible. Everyone knows DEI has had some issues the last few years and that along with other things has cause Jr to go winless for two years but Jr is currently sitting at 3rd in the points and and it is possible.

As for not holding a jock to the drivers that you mentioned I will agree with some and disagree with others. Stewart, Gordon, and JJ are better then Jr hands down. Edwards and Hamlin are starting to show signs of being better then Jr atleast for the last two years with both having more wins then Jr but both drivers have less top 5's and top 10's then Jr and even with wins so far this year are below Jr in the points standing and before anyone says Carl would be ahead of Jr points wise if he didn't get the penalty that is not true. If we add the 100 points carl lost back carl only be 7th.

Matt Kenseth has the same number of years in NASCAR as Jr and has one less win so its hard to say Jr can't hold his jock. People can make the case Kenseth has won a Championship but kenseth won just one race the eyar he won so the same defense can be uses for Jr this year.

As for Burton I must totally 100% percent disagree. Yes Burton leading the points this season and yes Burton has two wins since Jr last win but Burton has just one win a season in 2006,2007, and 2008 so far. Before that Burtoon went 4 years 10 month 3 weeks and 6 days between wins. Yes that is right Jeff Burton went from 10/28/2001 to 9/24/2006 without a win. Also Burton has just 3 more wins in 6 more years in NASCAR then Jr.

I hope i gave you a defendable argument in Jr defense. Is Jr as good as alot of his fans make him out to be no but he also not as bad as alot of his haters make him out to be also.

You guys are blowing this way out of proportion.  Jr. has just started with a new team and is  9 races into the season.  Yes I'm sure he'd like to have a win by now but he has been one of the most consistent drivers on the circuit all year.  Most of the time I turn on a race he is inside the top 10.  The one blemish this year was when he was taking out of a race.  I know that happens to everyone and is racing, but other than that he has a good car at almost every race this year.

He is in third in points currently and is probably right where he wants to be.  If he doens't win a race before the chase then I would agree and say maybe it's time to panic.  But let the chemistry with a team play out a little longer before everyone starts getting all up tight.

Also just did some quick research on Jr. this year.  According to the statistics as far as race start, mid race, end race, green laps passed, passed under green, laps led, etc..........Jr. is the top ranked driver this year.  Kyle Busch is right behind him.  Also out of all the drivers only Busch is ahead of Jr. as far avg position during the race. (Jr. right around (10.0).  Lastly he has led more laps then everyone on the circuit but Jimmie Johnson.  And is second to only Edwards among drivers with the fastest laps this year (Edwards has a rocket at intermediate tracks).

You can take these statistics for whatever you want but it's hard to refute that Jr. has been among the best drivers all year.  He is solid in  every category listed and 3rd in points.  Again I'll state lets have this year pan out a little bit when he is actually on a proven team.
