"Balk!" Gary Darling forgot that he had called timeout in the 7th inning of a 2-2 game tonight, and Tim Lincecum stopped. . .  and because he stopped he was called for a balk??!!  Are you kidding me? Granted the Giants themselves self destructed throughout the game, but for an umpire to blow a call like this is beyond the pale.  Talk about early dementia. . .the guy oughta be thrown out of umpiring for this one. This game should have been protested.  Where is Bochy on this ?

Balks are a judgement call and not subject to protest. Darling claimed that Molina requested time after the balk occurred, again, something not protestable. So Bochy is left with nothing he can protest.
