Wow, three conference semifinal matchups involve teams with 3-0 leads.  Which team should be considered the favorite to hoist the Cup?

It has to be the Red Wings.  President's Trophy (even though that has meant little in recent years), all that talent, Ozzie playing will in the net, and the only 3-0 team this round that is really dominating.  The Stars took two overtime games to get to 3-0, and the Pens have two 1-goal games if you don't count empty-netters.  And game 2 could easily have been tied if the whistle hadn't been blown on the Ranger goal that was disallowed.

Stars/Wings should be a good one!

i agree the favorite is the Wings, but man....pittsburgh and dallas are playing some great hockey as well.  How about pittsburgh...7 in a row to open the postseason.  Thats crazy!  But at least for now, the wings are the favorites.  Up 3-0, coming out of the west, which is harder overall than the east is.  They have now won 5 in a row and every game they have played in detroit throughout the postseason.  President Cup winners.  So yea they are the favorite, but the next round and the stanley cup should provide some great hockey.  Cant wait!

My vote goes to Dallas, but I'm a humongous Stars fan, so take it with a grain of salt.  But hear me out--they beat the defending Cup champs pretty soundly, are on the verge of beating the "favorite" to win it all this year, and have the goaltending and depth to make it past the Red Wings.  If that happens, there is no way I see an Eastern Conference team beating them 4 out of 7 times.  No offense to any of their teams, but I don't think they are physical enough to give the Stars a tough matchup......and the only team with a goaltender that comes close to matching Turco is Pittsburgh.  He has shown some inconsistency, though, and I don't know if his great play can last for two more series.

All of this, of course, hinges on them winning one more against San Jose (which should be no problem)...but in my opinion they have the strongest offense, defense and goaltending going for them all at the same time.  They have not given up any leads to lose a game yet in the playoffs, but have come back to win in their last 4 games played......they are showing the grit, determination and resiliency needed to advance round after round.  C'mon Stars, let's bring the cup back to Big D!!

GO STARS!!!!  BELIEVE!!!!

As a Wings fan, I am praying for a Stars-Wings Conf Finals.  The edge for that should sway to Detroit for one reason and one reason only - Marty Turco has NEVER won a game in the Joe while playing goal for Dallas.  NEVER.  NOT even 1!  That will be a HUGE monkey on his back coupled with the added pressures of the deep playoff series.  I expect a Stars-Wings series to go to 6 or 7 games with the Wings ultimately coming out on top.

After that, I want to see a Detroit-Montreal Cup finals.  That would be huge...I would want Detroit to win but as long as they don't get swept or ousted in 5, I could still stomach a loss.
