I saw a note, can't recall where, but it said Iowa has a streak of 31 straight years with a player drafted.  Nice stat...probably not the longest streak, but I think that shows that the Hawkeyes always produce NFL players.

This year might actually be our first w/out a draftee. Can you think of anyone on this current team who would be drafted right now? I cannot. Usually, we can count on a lineman or two, but this o-line is as weak as it's been in decades. None of our skill positions are really even eligible right now. Moeaki is a possible 2010 candidate, but he's gotta step it up this year and stay injury-free. I'm guessing someone, or even a few guys, will have breakout years this year and get the attention of NFL scouts, but right now....the cupboard is pretty bare.

Earth to PalmettoHawk - what part of "CURRENT TEAM" did you not get? 2008/2009 squad.

And the Hawks had 3 players drafted, not four. Godfrey, Humpal & Iwebema.  Young & Mattison were signed as free agents and were not drafted.

I think Mitch King is the best bet, with Mmatt Kroul, Brandon Myers and Seth Olsen the next level.  If Andy Brodell has a killer year, and Bradley Fletcher is a big fast corner. you never know it is a long way off.

That's great news, I thought Busch was one of the most underrated players on the team and he really meant a lot.  Too bad our off coord KOK never gave him the ball more.

I hope he does well...Vikings becoming a place for a lot of Hawkeyes it seems, Greenway is up there as well.  Go Vikings I guess.

I tell you another guy I remember watching that has had a super stellar career although you never hear about him is Casey Weigmann, center for the Chiefs.  Great guy and an example for all Hawkeyes.

Mitch King....maaaaybe, but I think that might be a stretch. I definitely don't think Myers or Olsen are close to being NFL-draft material, but like I said before they could have breakout years this year, you never know.

Hawkeye - we (Broncos) just signed Wiegmann for this upcoming year. Great to finally see a Hawk not named Kevin Kasper wearing a Broncos uniform.

Dace Richardson... was ranked near top when coming out of high school.  Iowa's starting Left Tackle could be used on the inside in the NFL.  If drafted will be later in the draft due to injury concerns.

Richardson isn't even listed as first-string on the 2-deeps right now. Doering was a 5-star kid coming out of H.S. - if he has a couple good years he has the size/speed to become and NFLer. I still think Moeaki is our best bet to get drafted.
