I cannot understand why the Vikings or Bears did not go for Henne or Brohm. I guess Tavares and Grossman are the answers for both teams???? Not that they would play next year but they both lasted to the second round. Maybe the Vikings think they got a steal in Booty?. I doubt it.

couldn't agree more. minnesota missed the boat not taking brohm. they had the #1 rushing offeense and defense and didn't make then playoffs. for most teams with a semi-decent QB those stats would be enough

You are all giving Brohm way to much credit.  He's not that good.  He'll be a suitable backup as a pro, nothing more.  You'll see, only time will prove me right.  The Bears have plans on winning this year and Grossman gives them a better chance, not that I think he is the answer.  The Bears did a fine job with who they drafted.  I only hope that Forte comes through as expected and we can get rid of that BUM Benson.

GO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!

Here's the deal, The Vikes looked at the history of QB's out of the draft and they found out  "most of them dont make it" Brohm is way over rated and Henne is way to big of a ? mark for the Vikes to take a chance on. Instead the make the smart choice and go with one of the best SS in college who will make a immediate impact. Remember we moved up in the draft to get TJ 2 years ago Im not to big on him so far myself but the you cant just throw Qb's away every time the look bad. He has one more year to prove himself our next year we will be looking for  a QB, and will take J D B off the bench who we luckily got in the 5th. GO VIKES!

Whats wrong with a getting a back up QB in the 2nd round?  Both the Vikings and the Bears used back up QB's last year and probably will again this year.  Also isnt a little competion a good thing,  T Jack has had no competion since he was drafted by the Vikings.  Brooks Bollinger is not a threat .  The Dolphins drafted Beck in the 2nd round last year and drafted a Henne again this year in the 2nd round.  Now lets see what Beck can do!!

The Bears did the right thing by strengthening their porous and aging offensive line and by getting Matt Forte in the second round.

Grossman and Orton took them to the playoffs in 2 of the last 3 years. The team will be able to pick up a big, scrambling QB in free agency or a trade for one. I didn't see any QB's out there who could start in 2008. Yeah, they could have picked someone in the last 2 rounds and get a better grade from the "experts." But better draft grades don't translate into a better 2008 team. Getting rid of Brian Griese was a good move. He no longer has an upside.

As for the Vikings, they are crazy to stick with Tarvaris Jackson. They need a good, experienced QB. With Favre gone, the Lions have the top QB in the NFC North with old Jon Kittna. I'd rate Grossman, at least ten years younger, as the next best QB in the division -- definitely ahead of the raw Aaron Rodgers and the untested Brian Brohm.

I have heard that they both might pusue Chris Sims if he is released.
