That was one of the worst races to watch.  Why watch the first 138 laps of the race when unless you wreck it doesn't matter.  They were in lines for freaking 100 laps. Brian is brain dead.  He said what if every race was a restrictor plate race, we would have 36 different winners.  If every race was a restrictor plate race Nascar would absolutely suck.  It isn't real racing, just getting behind somebody and following.  That is stupid.

Iceman, I think Brian was saying the race is so unpredictable at the end that anyone on the lead lap could win it with 2-3 laps remaining.  I do agree restrictor plate racing sucks.

The reason they started using the restrictor plates is that Nascar was afraid of the cars going too fast and flying off the track. Now they only use them for TV ratings because unfortunately people are amazed by the big wreck. It is a wild scene and now that no one gets hurt with this tank of a car they drive there is no way Nascar will change anything. It doesn't matter to them that the race is boring for the first 75% of it and then ridiculous when these so called "best drivers" can't go 3 laps without someone doing something dumb and destroys 10 cars.

Do Nascar fans actually think this is what racing is supposed to be? Isn't a race supposed to determine who's fastest and not who's luckiest. Is there any other race in the world where the guy in first can get too big of a lead? Is there any other race where you can go from first to 33rd in one straightaway? This is nonsense and not real racing. This is demolition derby at 190 mph after 2 hours of follow the leader.

Since they no longer care about having the cars look remotely like "stock" cars you can buy in the showroom, why don't they just develop a smaller engine that makes the restrictor plate unnecessary and allow the teams to tweak whatever they want. You'll end up with some cars going a little faster than others and the big single 43 car pack of disaster will be history. Those who prepare better and test better and qualify better will go faster and separate from the rest and it will be just like the other 30 oval races each year.

I think its universally agreed that plate racing sucks.Nascar knows it .But do you think they would kill their ratings getter ( the big one ) by making these races about driver skill instead of luck? No chance!  Nascar's shown itself to be all about the mighty dollar in almost everything they've done recently so why would they change now?

...BTW,am I the only one that saw the 26 try to ram the 18 and cause a big one? I know Busch made a stupidly quick lane change in front of him but didn't hit him or cause MacMurray to lose places. Of course none of the talking heads made any mention of this as Nascar polices them as much as the drivers and crews.
