They will start with a mediocre ranking. Get some respect after beating Colorado by 17 points. Finally get into the top 5 after pummelling Auburn. Then absolutely forget to show up against a Big East creampuff...

11-1 and win their BCS game as they are again considered underdogs to an inferior foe.

Hope I'm wrong.

It all hinges on whether Coach Stew can keep their heads in the games down the stretch, and maybe let Pat use that QB arm of his when a team miraculously stuffs the run...

If he does those 2 things then they play in the NC game. No prediction for that one though...

Yes I am worried about the new defense, backup RB, potential for more ints and whether Stew can keep them motivated but I plan to load up the old couch in the pickup and go to Heins field to see us complete the perfect season and kill Pitt.

Im real worried about the season on paper we look to be the favorite in every one of our games....i think changing the auburn game may hurt bc i think if we played them right off the bat we would beat them no doubt in my mind since they pushed that game back it worries me a little they always have great talent ....i think the colorado game will be a shoot out in boulder and of course usf they have won 2 straight....not really big on the predictions i guess it gets people pumped up but get back to me in august after a few weeks of fall practice.

It is definitely too early to be making predictions.  We don't even have most of this year's recruiting class enrolled or involved in the football program yet.

Areas of Concern:
#1) Running back depth.  Devine is small and in my opinion will not be able to carry the
ball 20 times a game.   20 touches a game but not 20 carries.

#2) Our secondary.  We are reloading our secondary and that will take time to develop
       understanding and chemistry.

#3) Defensive line.  Same thing, we are reloading and will need the new players to develop
and understand the defensive scheme early (Finau in particular) and that all important
       chemistry.

I fear nearly every game on our schedule.  To go undefeated with this year's schedule would be a major accomplishment.  The Auburn game being moved back is definitely playing to Auburn's advantage as they are learning a new offense and will have time to jell.  Colorado scares the hell out of me,  Mile High altitude makes visiting players tired immediately plus they are a pretty good team and have one of the top rated running backs coming in this year and he will start!!!!  Louisville scares me, Pitt scares me, USF scares me (Please run out of the I against them this year).  Connecticut and Cincinnati are gunning for us.  Our strength of schedule should look very good this year with the exception of Villanova, Syracuse and Marshall.

I hope we go at least 10-2 and win another BCS bowl game and maintain a Top 10 or Top 5 finish.
