So Danny Green just declared for the NBA as well.  And it sounds like he completely blindsided the Tarheel program.  From what I hear the only reason he (and his dad) spoke to Roy and his staff was because they had to file some paper work for Danny.   There's already some concern that Danny's dad has already spoken to an agent so the Tarheels may not let Danny come back even if he backs out of the draft

If Tywon, Wayne and Danny all depart, then the Tarheels backcourt next year is Marcus Ginyard (love him for his defense and intangibles), Frasor (assuming he's healthy) and a Freshman point guard.

Sadness in Tarheel land.  C'est la vie.

Green will be back, as well as lawson I believe. Ellington actually has a chance in this draft, but he is still sort of a tweener. Lawson is just too small, every point guard in this draft save for drew lavender is at least two inches taller than him and just as fast. as I mentioned before you have Gordon, Rose, Mayo, Bayless and those are just the underclassmen. I don't know who told Lawson he would be in the first round but it seems very optomistic. Green looks great athletically but he has shown he is still very immature in a lot of ways and he makes poor decisions and can be a very streaky shooter. He would get prime minutes next year especially if ellington leaves, probably doubling his points total, and with his defensive and rebounding skill could be a lottery pick the following year.

Well I don't see how UNC is such a favorite if they all come back.   In 2005 the big 4 (Felton, Mccants, wILLIAMS AND MAY)won the championship and all moved into the lottery.  This team, and they will basiclly be the same team that looked terrible against Kansas.  They all probably moved themselves out of the 1st round.  If they want to stay in the draft even if they get no guaranteed contract and wind up in the d league like some others players have and give up the shot at improving their draft position then I guess we (UNC) will be much weaker.  I still feel that the "Hansbrough would not me the starting center on a middle school team if he was black"  idea that Freeman and Roy S Jones have been pushing has caused racial unrest on the team  Maybe Hansbrough  is no good and the black players on the team should be bigger stars and are being held down by this white black issue.  Is this what Freeman and Roy S Jones is saying?  That would not be good for team chemistry.  Is there no way a white player can be a star with these black sports writers?  I happen to think (unlike freeman)  that you don't get 20 points a game and 10 rebounds and be totally terrible.  However Freeman and Jones may be right.

Freeman's article, comments and position about Hansbrough are idiotic and absurd.   But I don't for a moment believe it had an impact on the team.  Stupid comments from a sportswriter (I use the term loosely) doesn't outweigh the months of practice, travel, social time and game time with teammates.

Saying they all declared because Tyler stayed is as silly as saying Tyler stayed (to help the program) because all the rest declared.

I'll look at it all at face value.  Tyler doesn't have any financial hardship and he still has goals he wants to achieve in college.  Plus he hates to fly.    I think the other three who have declared are motivated by the financial security of an NBA contract, which is only assured with a first round selection.

I don't think we should be fretting just yet, nbadraft.net has wayne at 25 and ty at 38.  i don't know if Danny Green would even get drafted, but there's nothing wrong with seeing where you are in relation to other draft prospects.
