Josh Shipp threw his name in the NBA draft although he will not hire an agent and is likely to return after testing the waters.

He knows he won't be 1st rounder but at least he'll get the experience of the process and improve his flaw for next season.

I was originally surprised to hear this.  But, as long as he is coming back, I guess that it doesn't hurt to go through the process to learn what it's all about before it really counts next year.  And I hope that he does pick up some good pointers beyond what Coach Howland has taught him.

Just think how good he could be if Roll gets back healthy and takes some of the three-point shooting pressure off of Shipp.  He could really develop into a much more talented slasher that would attract more attention from scouts next year.

And everybody keeps talking about how next year's class won't be as overloaded with talent as this year's class.  All the more reason for Shipp, Collison, and Mbah a Moute(?) to come back for one more year.

I guess I understand this but I don't like it. Everybody knows Shipp and Mbah a Moute are not first rounders and they are testing the water and are likely to return. Why not just return, then?

How great would it be if Collison, Mbah a Moute and Shipp had a press conference and said "rather than entering the NBA draft we're coming back to Westwood because we want to bring home that national title and this is the core for next season"

I respect Collison for deciding early that he'll come back even though he is clearly more NBA ready than Luc or Josh.
