After watching much of the draft, I have seen that Miami selected Chad Henne out of Michigan.  Where do you think that will put Beck?  Do you think that Beck will still start this next year while Henne learns the ropes of the NFL, or do you think that Henne will jump ahead of him on the depth chart?

Discuss among yourselves!  ha ha

We're supposed to discuss this for you?  Be a man, and discuss it yourself.

If the Dolphins were looking for somebody to start ahead of Beck, they would have gotten Ryan in the first round.  Instead they got Henne, who didn't really stand out, but was solid in college.  The Dolphins snagged McCown earlier, and needed to either draft a qb or sign another career backup to round out the qb depth chart.

IMO, the Dolphins are being very smart about their qb situation.  They've got John Beck, who has a ton of potential, but who knows if he'll ever prove himself at the pro-level.  They drafted Henne, a second guy with potential, who will either push John Beck to get better, or succeed him on the depth chart.  And they signed McCown, who has proven himself to be a decent enough qb at the NFL level.  If both Beck and Henne flop, McCown is their fall back until they can try again during next year's off season.

There's no loyalty in the NFL, and teams are always on the lookout for who might either perform better, or play solidly for far less money, depending on the situation.  Beck understands this, and said as much in a recent interview.

It looks like Beck has bulked up 11 pounds and is in the runnings for starter along WIth Jake McNoun or however you spell it.  I think he will be given his chance at the head of the offense before all is said and done.
