BB is a Cheesehead, and Harry Douglas will be Matt Ryan's target.  Kinda ironic huh? I think BB will definetly hold the reign down for Favre. I would like to see Brett back for one more year and to teach BB the ropes. GB has a good line (former Card Jason Spitz is on it). I am a life long Niner fan and GB is a big rival. But I would love to see him have a great career in the cheese country.

Yes that is kind of ironic. Good fit for both players. Atlanta has squat at WR so Douglass stands a good chance to make their team and get some playing time.  Drafting Ryan at #3 with a new coach would seem to indicate that the Falcons are going to go in  a new, more pass oriented offense where receivers with good hands are at a premium. Questionable size and durability should be offset by HEART and playmaking ability. Not scared to go across the middle and can turn a short pass into a big play. Green Bay is a great place for Brohm to learn his trade. High quality, young team that just lost, or has to lose him soon even if he does unretire, their Hall OF Fame QB. Rodgers will get his shot, as he deserves, but this team has all the pieces for a QB to succeed. They have a hole at the QB slot that someone has to step up and take and I suspect that Brohm will get his chance next year.

Nice link. A lot of "experts" seem to think Brohm will be an immediate threat to Rodgers. I hope he does sit for a while. I've always believed that you are better off being the guy who followed the guy who followed the LEGEND. Nobody is going to live up to Brett Farve, so I expect there  to be some disgruntled fans in the near future. Easier to be compared to what Rodgers is doing than to what Brett Farve did. Also, an earlier post questioned Brohm's ability to play in the cold. This is a quote from a Courier Journal story about that very thing. Green Bay is a cold-weather team, but Brohm has thrived in those conditions in the past. He was 25-0 in games after Oct. 1 in high school and 15-6 in college.  Here's the link for anyone who ants to read the whole article.

I'm am in half agreement with both Go Cats and fansince66 on the whole cold-weather "issue".  Brohm has played in some cold weather.  Very true as fansince66 has said.

However, having lived ~3 years in Wisconsin, I can easily tell you that their definition of "cold-weather" varies greatly from the average Louisvillian (believe me when I tell you this).  For example, when I first got here (ie: Kentucky) everyone else was bundled up in jackets and such, it was considered shorts weather in Wisconsin.  I wasn't used to be looked at funny walking around in shorts in ~40degree weather (there's still an odd few around here who do do such a thing, but they're few and far between).

I agree with Go Cats when he says that Brohm prolly will experience some really cold games in the future.  Much colder than what he faced round this neck of the woods.  Hell, Lambeau's nickname is "The Tundra" for a reason...

To follow up on my Wisconsin story, I'd just like to add that I'm fully acclimated to KY temps now.  I can't even imagine how I used to play outside in -10degree weather!  Hell, I'm one of those people that I used to think was weird bundled up in 40-degree weather.  I am totally warm-blooded in nature and now I HATE the cold.

I stumbled across a great video. It is ESPN commentators debating who will be the future back of the Packers. They discuss pros and cons of Rogers and Brohm.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft

When you click on the link, the video will be in the top right corner of the web page. You'll notice it because it has a huge picture of Brohm's head and he is wearing his PINK shirt.

Brett Farve was from Southern Mississippi...he seemed to do OK with the cold.  BB will be fine.  Tough that he fell so far, but he may have fallen to the best possible place for him to be...as a fan of the bengals and Colts I am really glad he is in the NFC.  I can cheer on the Packers now.

ULCARDS, did you say a fan of the Bengals? What do you think about Urrutia. Got picked up in the 7th by the Bengals. Do you think he will make it through training camp?

Urrutia must have been fated to be picked by the Bengals. Does anybody remember him getting in trouble at a Church picnic before he ever played a game for UL. He has impressive height and strength that NFL teams think will automatically make you a great receiver. I don't remember anyone else dropping more passes last year than him. He obviously didn't get along with Coach K, who gives his players a lot of room to be themselves and then suspends them when they don't handle that freedom. I think Marvin Lewis is a little too loose with his players as well. It  won't take SUPERMARIO long to get into trouble if he gets a little money. And given the cheapness of the Bengals organization, that's exactly what I think he will get. I'm really surprised anybody drafted him. The only thing that would have suprised me more is if it had been any other team.

Even though he does have problems, I want him to have success. He's gonna have to bust his butt and get his attitude together though. He has the capability to go far.

I like Marrio, but...can he take a hit from an NFL linebacker, when he seemed to dodge college linebackers hitting him?  He has the physical tools and size to be a great receiver, but he could also become onother problem child of the Bengals.  They drafted two players who had some problems with the law...so I don't think the Bengals are going to escape their "bad-boy" status any time soon.  The upside is that Lewis knows how to deal with these types of players now.

Great Link:

I love what Dan Wetzel and John Clayton wrote about Brohm being a loser in the draft. These two baffoons should have their crayons taken away. I realize only time will tell, but both of these guys will have words to eat come this fall. I see a stiff competition in GB at the quarterback position. Brohm may not start the season, but just like Vince Young in the 06 season, they'll put BB in 6th or 7th game and the rest will be history.

Take it to the bank!
