Personally I would compare it more to the Aaron Rodger draft pick.

The Packers knew eventually Brett would be gone.

Rodgers was there later than expected and TT bought some insurance.

I doubt Driver has 2 or 3 years left like Favre did so it was a smart move.

I love Driver, have since before he took a lower year salary from Green Bay than Minnesota offered him in signing bonus, and I think he has earned the right to play out his days in green and gold.

However I also like that TT bought the insurance early. Remember we have been spoiled with Greg Jennings, most NFL WRs need three years to break out.

I do not even blink any more, I rest easy comfortable TT knows what the heck he is doing.

Donald Driver is a 2 time pro-bowler and he's not about to be replaced bye Jordie Nelsen Donald is and has been our leading reciver for years and Corey Williams was garbage until last year any way.

Ruvell Martin has a long fight to make the football team, even with KRob now gone.

Jennings

Driver

Jones

Nelson

leaves one slot for

Brett Swain, Chris Francies, Ruvell Martin, and Johnny Quinn to battle over. Quinn being the best special teams player of those four gets some extra looks I think.

Before this year Martin always had the advantage of being the biggest target, but with Jordy Nelson on board he does not have that.

WRs and TEs ~ last year the Packers went 6 and 2 most the year

I think this season it is more likely to be 5 and 3, or depending on the White/Wynn battle to be the power back the packers could go 3 FBs / 5 WRs / 2 TEs

the 53 man roster is getting tight and another WR will drop before long. I figure it is Francies, Martin, and then Quinn or Swain to go in order.

I would hate to see Donald Driver leave the Packers.  Now that Brett Favre is retired who will hold your team together, except for Driver.  I hope that Aaron Rogers palys as well this season as he did against my beloved Cowboys.  He has potential and he will be compared to favre all season long which is not fair to him.  It will be just like all of the QBs after Aikman retired even Romo.  You guys can dominate the NFC North again this year because the Vikings, Bears and the Lions can not hold a candle to you.

Now is not the time for Donald Driver leave Green Bay.  He means too much to the fans and is still very productive and a warrior.  That said, I wouldn't put it past TT to give him the axe if he experiences a sharp decline.  I don't foresee it happening though; this man has great genetics and will probably play until he's 40.
