Someone else said it best in another thread, someone acting a fool when they are in the nfl and someone acting a fool while they are in college are two different things.

One other issue I have is that they take a stand in dumping Tank Johnson citing they want character guys but they draft a couple of guys that have the same issues.  You can't have it both ways.

How many times did Tank Johnson screw up while on a Bears team that was full of players and coaches supporting him to the point of visiting him in jail.  What Tank Johnson did to the Bears organization after all of the support he got was a spit in the face; making bad choices in College is another story.

The "Last Straw" that drove Tank Johnson out of town turned out to be nothing.  That DUI got dropped, so he in essence got kick out of town for a traffic stop.  Stop being "holier-than-thou" and santimonious, people!

Yeah, Tank Johnson was better off in Dallas last season anyway.  He at least went to the playoffs.

I wonder how everyone feels the day after?  I have to say that I feel much better about the Bears' draft than I did immediately following the draft's conclusion.  Especially getting the chance to learn more about their picks and their so-called character issues.

I forgot that this team had so many needs that it was impossible to fill all of them with this draft.  They were able to get a solid player (hopefully) for most position of need.  Two positions went unanswered in QB and LG.  The did sign an undrafted FA QB which I think is just as good considering the garbage after Booty.  I was a big fan of Booty (who isn't?) and hoped the Bears would snag him.  They did pick up an OG near the end so hopefully he is more serviceable than Metcalf and Beekman.

On the upside, I think the picked up a solid LT and RB.  WR are always tough to predict and the DT with "character issues" is supposed to be first round talent.  If they can hit on those four with a few wild cards, that would be great.

Talking about those "character issues" that I jumped on in a previous thread.  I don't consider drugs, booze, or bar fights as "character issues."  If there is a repetitive pattern, then yes.  Getting caught once, no big deal.  The media should just leave that alone.  Unless he is Lawrence Phillips.....

There you have it, I took a big swig of the kool-aid today.....

I say it again i like the draf class i've only a little problem with 2 draft picks.

That's the CB in the 5th and the DE in the 7th. Instead we could have gotten Andre Woodson or Dixon or Colt Brennan in the 5th and taken the CB in the 7th.

Didn't happen i better hope that that CB works out for us otherwise we wasted a chance here.

The rest of the Picks made sense especially those 7th rounders sure some of us are unhappy about the names that didn't get drafted but names in the 7th round and beyond are mostly just names that never will find their way back onto the field. And all those 7th rounder and Undrafted FA's that succeed are just a minority compared to the rest of the roster...

i think the Bears made the right but a safe choice. they could've taken the risk and chose mendenhall but didnt feel the need for another draft failure

The interesting thing about the corner in the 5th is that the Patriots would have taken him with the next pick.  They were unpleasantly surprised when the Bears picked him. Like everybody else, they didn't expect it.
