...is Nick Saban.  The SEC pushes to pass a rule "in his honor" to keep him from traveling to high school campuses and it succeeds.  But Saban is too smart for you, because he is already finding the loopholes that the NCAA has once again.

This seems a little dangerous to me Ng. While it is tough to fault Saban for finding new ways to recruit I am not sure this is a good idea...

This is pushing the envelope and this can be something that is difficult to control. Coaches and players can continue to change the login and other inormation which could make this very difficult to track.

The only way this could possibly work is if the NCAA had a sanctioned website for each team to track the useage (because some rules will have to be put in place sooner or later). Unlimited usage of this could be a major problem.

I' saying Schiano.  He took a TERRIBLE program and has made it respectable.  Plus the NCAA put a rule in for him too.  You can longer have run camps out of state.  Rutgers use to run one in south florida to help with recruiting there.

So, I wonder if the taxpayers in that high school town are happy that their money that should be used for taking classes and improving education is being used for other purposes. Why would a high school allow a student to log on and talk to a college coach? Do other students get to log on and talk to friends and relatives? Strange. Typical Saban.

I hated Saban when he ditched the Miami Dolphins, but he is a very good person at finding good players. H helped the Phins bring in some good talent like Ronnie Brown, Matt Roth, Channing Crowder and Travis Daniels.

I don't pretend to know what Tuberville does for his recruiting. Just wanted to put that out there.

But Saban doing this? Do you have to push the envelope like this just to show how smart you are?

That it's Saban, head coach of my arch rival, has nothing to do with it. It just seems like a creepy thing to do that you probably don't have to do at all. He's the head coach of Alabama, right? Does he have to bend every rule?

He's the head coach of Alabama, right? Does he have to bend every rule? This coming from a fan of the school that holds the distinction of being placed on major probation the second most times in history.  I am pretty sure even your men's tennis team got in trouble for cheating one time.

The best recruiter has to be the legendary Bobby Bowden. Not only because of the way he turned around FSU, but because of a certain event.

I tried to find it on the internet but I couldnt. Anyway, a recruit from Birmingham, Alabama got a visit head coach of Clemson, Tommy Bowden. So the recruit and Tommy go inside the house and start to talk a little bit. Meanwhile, Bobby Bowden pulls up to the same recruits house. He knocks on the door, and the recruit answers, and sees his son Tommy inside. Bobby then tells him "go home son, your mothers waiting for you at home with your dinner." Now  is that not the best recruiting story ever?

The recruit ended up going to FSU. This is completely based on a true story told by Bobby Bowden. Article was in the Miami Herald.

This coming from a fan of the school that holds the distinction of being placed on major probation

And this coming from a fan who's program just came off a major probation lasting five years.

second most times in history

Was not aware of that.  Can you give me the stats on this and where you found it?
