This years offense is an F.  The pickup of Edmonds was terrible.  I could have told you that.  If only they would have asked.

Maybe the hot, dry weather this weekend will get those Padres bats hot.  The timing couldn't be any better with the first place Diamondbacks in town.

I got a good feeling Tadahito Iguchi and Kahlil Green will break out this weekend.

I wasn't a fan of the Jim Edmonds signing either.  I don't know how KT expected much from him, it was just an example of being cheap.  I didn't expect Iguchi to be batting .213.

I think this team desperately needs a left fielder with some pop and a centerfielder with some speed.

Brian Giles, Kouz, and Adrian Gonzalez are the only ones really giving this team what even a realist would expect.  Green batting .218 (.253), Edmonds batting .177(.286), Iguchi batting .213 (.272), Hairston .197 (.240), Bard .247 (.274) all batting significantly lower than their career averages (in parentheses).  You have to think at least a couple of them will come around.  The bench won't help a ton, as it is an inexpensive one, but they are the bench.  This team just stand too much of a risk of falling of the map if they don't add a player...

I didn't think our offense could get any worse but it did. Proved my wrong. Greeny is wayyy over due. Remember he hit 25+ homeruns last year and always averages around 20 though. So that offense isnt a fluke. I think we need a scape goat and i blame wally joyner. Otherwise i just don't know what to do.

This is a tough year so far! Jake Peavy goes all out produces and no help! We need to do something now to shake things up, I have faith in Bud Black and Kevin Towers, just not in ownerships pockets. At least we have Adrain Gonzalez, and well??? I just wish I could post or discuss games not a huge problem with no runs every time. I do not blame Jim Edmonds, or Josh Bard, Brian Giles or anyone else, it is not a matter of bad production but poor planning. I do not want the old Padre days back!

I don't want the old Padres back either.  I want new Padres!   This is arguably the most lame offense in baseball with one of the best pitching staffs.

Now that we let the Cardinals swindle us three times (Lanksford for Woody Williams, Ozzie for Templeton, anyone for Edmonds), shouldn't they be so good to part with one of their many outfielders?

Our minor league system has failed to produce a lot of talent and we can't afford to sign any free agents.  It sure looks like a real long season to me.

Can't wait for football.

When the hell does KT call up Headley? The guy was swinging a smoking bat in pre-season. He can flat out hit. What is the problem with baptism by fire? He'll screw up a bit, but his bat would sure help.

There are not enough adjectives to describe the offense!!  Big park, slow runners!!  maybe it is time for a new GM.  Great at finding pitching, but can't seem to put an offense together.

Padres need a new GM. One that buys players who are not old and washed-up.(Edmonds) (Marcus Giles) Just spend some money on a good, young player just one time, to jump start this terrible offence.
