popalpo: " Those 2 losses were two years ago, get over it man."

Oh come on, get real. Do you seriously think that people are intimidated by this school yard
psychology? Give me a little more credit than that.

Look, I don't care about your fantasies. If you think the 49ers have a great defense then fine. If you think they're contenders for a divisional title then great. The whole country is full of football fans that have fanciful dreams about teams that haven't got a chance. However if you're going to troll other teams message boards and spout off ridiculous theories and bogus truths then you have to expect people to respond with a reality check once in a while.

Jessum,

Your not going to leave 06 alone huh?

Intimidated by my school yard psychology???? First, what the hell does that mean?? Whats your point you want me to admit that those two wins 2 years ago was luck??  I am not going to do that.  Even though you guys were still a better team that year there was no luck in beating a team they shouldn't have beat  twice in a year??  We showed some signs what we can do with a capable OC.  Our D has improved since then.  Our young players have the talent, they are gaining more experience and maturing from the mental standpoint.  There is no Fantasy about it, we have a legit shot.  I am telling you reasons why I have confidence in my team.  I am not here shouting "you suck, we are better."  I am having an intellectual debate with you guys.  I have given your team credit for their strengths and I have exposed, in my opinion, some of their weaknesses.

If my theories are ridiculous, why have I been complimented by seahawk fans in this thread.  You don't have to agree.  It is an opinion.  Bogus truths?  Please quote any of my "bogus truths."

There are surprise performances, and surprise teams every season.  You expect the division title just to be handed to you?  Who expected the Packers to have a 13-3 season?  Who expected the Giants to beat the 18-0 patiriots in the superbowl?  Who expected Adrian Peterson to break the single game rushing record in his rookie season?  I'll tell you who...The Packers, Giants, and Peterson.  You can sit on your school yard throne, and accuse other fans of "ridiculous theories, faniciful dreams, and bogus truths," and wait for the NFC west trophy to be handed to you.

But that my friend is .....why they play the game!

I would be more concerned to Hasselbeck aging and finding a replacement for him as far as the future is concerned.

I know - that's why I'm worried.

Charlie Frye will be Hasselbeck's replacement if he retires within the next few years. If he goes on for a very long time, maybe not.
I disagree.  I think anyone can recognize that Frye is not a long-term solution and the team will bring in another QB as early as next draft.  Few people would have screamed if they did it this year, but I think they rolled the dice and hoped for continued health for Hasselbeck.

How can you even say that the Hawks haven't proved that they can win with the talent that they have..???

They ahve lost guys over the years that helped them get to the Super Bowl but they have still come out on top of the division and won a playoff game...I think they have proven that they can win in this league with the players that they have...do division titles and playoff appearances mean nothing anymore??

Come on...get a better argument then that...theres no way you could be serious that we haven't proved that we can win..you have to be kidding..thats the worst statement Ive heard since WMD'S....!!!!

popalpo, I like Seneca Wallace.  To me, he's a career backup though.  He's the kind of guy that if he led a team for a year he probably wouldn't kill them with mistakes, but he wouldn't win many games for them either.  Not a franchise QB kind of player.  But I'll take him as a #2 in this system over most backup QBs in the league.

I like debating with you...your points are thought out and intelligent.  Sorry I can't say that to everyone on this thread.

The same too you...but..we proved we could win without Alexander last year...so why should we believe that we are going to completely flop without him this year...Yeah we didnt prove that we could win a Super Bowl but we have proven that we can win the division which is the first step...Hackett was hurt a lot last year so...we also won without him...and besides that not much has changed from last year...we actually upgraded the offensive line regardless of what people think of Wahle he is an upgrade..

I see what youre saying that there are some new guys that haven't proven themselves yet...but the key guys are still here and they have all proven that they can win in this league...

hawkfan071,

Even though Alexander hasn't played well.  I don't think opposing defenses totally forgot his 2005 breakthrough MVP season.  I think there was still a legitimate threat, in the backfield, that forced defenses to think twice about neglecting the rush defense and solely concentrating on stopping Hasselbeck.

I don't think think the key Guys are still there...I think the key Guy is though (Hasselbeck).  Engram is still a solid WR, but can he step up to the plate as the main threat at the age of 35???

It will be interesting to see if Hasselbeck can shoulder all of the offense two seasons in a row with yet another main element of that offense gone.

Read it again. I didn't say anything about two years ago. You're obsessing.
