This is the start to a very important week for the Angels because we are going up against Red Sox's for 3 games and then the Tigers for 3 (Tigers are playing much better then when they started the season 0-7).

Weaver will be going up against Boston's ace Josh Beckett who is now 2-1 on the season. With Weaver only bing 1-3 on the season I have my concerns about tonight's game, but then I look at each pitchers ERA and Beckett's ERA is a bit over 5 with Weaver's being just over 3. If you take the ERA's into consideration then we should have tonight's game locked up, so lets just hope that our guys are hitting tonight and getting themselves into scoring position because if we can score around 5 runs we should have this game in the bag.

I am really hoping we can go 4-2 in the next 6 games, but if we go 3-3 I will be just as happy.

GO ANGELS!!!

Just remember that this should be a fun thread where we are talking about the Angels vs. the Red Sox's. :) There should be a lot to talk about in this series :)

Something happened to Beckett's neck, so he won't be pitching in tonights game.

Weaver should have this game locked up.

I think we can sweep Boston and take 2 of 3 from the Tigers.

What do you Angel fans think about that???

I think sweeping Boston's a little much to expect, but with Beckett getting scratched, I like our chances to take 2 of 3. Honestly, if we go 3-3 on this roadie, I'd be pretty happy.

One can never expect a sweep of Boston, but missing Beckett sure is a good thing.  I think we can hit Dice-K and Lester.

Detroit has picked it up but their game but their pitching is still definitely suspect.  Only Verlander worries me, and he's been well off his game lately (unfortunately for my fantasy team!)  Still, it's a road series against the defending champs and a sure contender, so I would be happy with a split and thrilled with anything better.

Weaver gave up a lead off homer to Jacoby Ellsbury to start the game tonight.

Let's hope he turns this around and moves forward. Keep your head up Weaver!!

GO Angels!!

What the hell is wrong with Weaver this year? Someone please tell me why he is our ace? Make Saunders our ace unitl Lackey returns.

WEAVER SUCKS! And he needs to cut his damn fruity hair!!!!

Finally finished the first inning with 30 pitches already thrown. Again, I think making Weaver the ace was a bad move.

Alright Weaver,

The Angels gave you some back up in the third inning scoring three runs.

It started with the bottom of the line up with Izturis hitting a double

Followed by Mathis- RBI single

Aybar then hit a ground rule double which moved Mathis to 3rd

Figgins walked loading the bases for Matthews

Matthews popped out to SS- damn the luck- no sac fly

Guerrero- popped out to 2nd- again, damn the luck

Anderson singled scoring both Mathis and Aybar

Then Hunter ended the inning

It's really nice to see this kind of production from the bottom of our lineup. Let's just continue to produce runs and help Weaver get his first win against Boston.

The game is in your hands Weaver.

GO ANGELS!!!

Great 3rd inning

The bottom of our line up strikes again,

The 4th started out with Kotchman popping out.

Izturis started it out by walking and then stealing 2nd base.

Mathis- homered

then Aybar doubled

Both Figgins and Matthews were outs.

Again, I really enjoy seeing this type of production from the bottom of our lineup. They have put Weaver back into the game with a 5-1 lead.

GO Angels!!!

Those were two really nice innings for our Angels.

As someone mentioned in an earlier post that it would be nice for Weaver to get his first win against Boston tonight. It will also help his ego and hopefully get him back to winning games.

Video_Bruin,

Where to start.

I would have to agree "AND" disagree with you on your post about Weaver.

I disagree with the statement about him sucking because he is a really good pitcher, but then I do agree with you about him not being our ace.

You know it kind of sucks because he is going up against pitchers that are better then he is, so we must depend on our hitters when he is out there pitching. Just think about the odds of both number 1 and 2 starters going down to start the season (It happened to us). If we started the season with both Lackey and Escobar he would be pitching in the third spot and instead of being 1-3 he would probably be 3-1, but thats not the case. I guess what I am trying to say is just hang in there because Weaver will come around.

GO Angels!!!

Tough inning in the 5th.

Boston came back and tied the game up at 5.

We start the 6th with Kotchman leading up followed by our bottom part of the lineup. They have been hiting pretty well down there, so hopefully we can put up another run for Weaver.

GO Angels!!!

Well, Weaver is gone after 5 and giving up 5.

I guess he is going to have to wait on getting his first win against Boston.

It's up to our bullpen now

GO Angels!!!

Well, we dropped game one tonight to Boston in a best of 3 series.

Our hitters did a really good job tonight, but our pitching struggled giving up 7 runs in the game. We need to make sure we rebound from tonight's lost and get the win tomorrow night.

It's only week 4 with no Lackey and our team is still playing great. No shame!!!

GO Angels!!!

Where was Vlad tonight?  He could have won that game for us with some RBI's.  He's off his game right now.  Not dialed in at the plate.  Can't be superman every night I guess.  At least he played some great D tonight.  Best defensive game I've seen from him, even though he missed that one he fell down on.  Closest thing I've seen to a dive from him.  And a great catch taking the HR away from Manny.

hey guys thats why they are world champs right! it was the first game of that series we have expericence aganist dice k and hopefully garland keeps the ball down and starts ever hitter with strike 1 and 2. But im not gonna blame this all on weaver im srry but when ur in boston and your 2-3-4-5 hitters are held to a hit or two and how many base runners stranded? you cant win ! you have to score 9 to 10 runs almost to beat them, i give props to weav he was aganist the ropes in the first and held it down then he struck out pedoria papi and manny 123 thats impressive come on, we cant kick our players they cant win them all he is only 25 their is a bright future for j weav... he will bounce back wait til lackey comes back to assume that ace status w
