I'm just speechless, most of the players on this team are making their playoff debut, they went down, and fought back like they've been doing it for years
I love all the haters saying we can only take 1 game or, that we have no shot at all, all the so called ESPN and TNT "Experts" gave us no chance
Well I'm surprised they know anything about the Sixers considering they haven't had any games on National TV [Cable] and ESPN would rather put teams like the Clippers Heat Pacers Bulls and even the TWolves, but that was because Garnett's come......wait Garnett didn't even play that game, yet Allen Iverson had a comeback to Philly and actually PLAYED THE GAME and still had no TV time
While TNT throughout the year seemed like they had the Heat booked every Thursday
Here's to the Haters and the people that never considered us winning, because we're gonna shock Detroit, BTW here's to the 1st National TV game we've had this year....turned out to be a playoff win
Let's go Sixers!

And don't forget how for a stretch in the third quarter the ref's put away the whistles for the Pistons. I counted at least four fouls that weren't called but the 76ers overcame that stuff pretty well. Tough hard nosed ball.

Agreed, they played a great game. All the guys came through in that second half...I have to admit I was a bit worried in the first quarter when Andre Miller seemed to disappear, but he came back and had a great game. And Reggie Evans...what can I say, the guy has been a positive for this team all year long and tonight he had a fantastic game. And Willie Green...I haven't believed in the guy at times this year, but he came out and played exceptionally well, making the shots he had to. If the Sixers were to have a real legitimate chance in this series I thought they had to take one at the Palace, and after falling behind they came back with authority in the fourth quarter.
I think the boys opened a lot of eyes tonight. Most analysts I've seen said the Sixers would win maybe one game in Philly this series, with Detroit dominating the rest. The Sixers showed heart and the talent they have, and I'm really proud of them tonight.

I'm still speechless as well. Kudos to you Santanasback, because your right we were screwed out of any national TV games and I didn't see a basket all year in Ohio. I didn't know what to expect after not watching all year, but was surprised at how well they hung in and played great defense. Let's savor this game until tomorrow, but game 2 will be interesting. How does Detroit respond because they'll be pissed. I agree, let's run right at these guys and wear them out. Continue to be physical and get in the head of Rasheed. When his mouth gets going negatively, he can take the rest of his team down a notch. GO SIXERS!

I should have also mentioned how many meaningless Miami Heat games I passed up just because national TV expected Shaq and D. Wade to rebound from last year's playoff exit. Oops! I can only hope they won't mess up and put game 2 on the Nashville Network.

The funny part is I don't even think we played all that well tonight. We played hard all game long for sure, but we missed open layups, had bad turnovers, missed open shots that should've went down, missed free throws etc. True the Pistons shut it down a bit at points in the game, but they got bailed out way too often when they went on their runs. They made shots that normally won't go down, and Sheed just played out of his mind throughout.
All that said we deserved this win because we were the better team tonight. I laugh at all the haters that say we still have no chance, that this is a fluke, and we'll be done in 5. I'm sorry but the Pistons just don't impress me at all and I think if we don't give games awy like we tried to do in the 1st half we can push these guys 6 or 7 or even win it. Lets take it to these guys and shock the world!!!!

You better believe it! We didn't play well at all...and were handed this one! I LOVE IT! Detroit was horrific while we were mediocre at best. This is supposed to be the hardest game to win in a series...especially for a new team to the playoffs! Heck...we could sweep these guys...if they keep screwing around like this in game 2.
I mean the only guy who really had a strong game for the sizers was evans. That's it...everyone else was either nervous or off or both and we still won! I can't believe we only had 15ish turnovers, felt like 25.
Sixers will only get better after this...we'll see if TEAM COCOON does too. If not the sixers may be going for a ride! Thank goodness for the EAST!

I wanted to amend this by saying the defense DID in fact play well in the second half but Detroit was just missing everything...big ups to Cheeks for using that 10 man rotation to perfection!
By the way was there a Theo Ratliff sighting tonight?

Anybody watch this on Comcast Sportsnet? At the end when they won Mark Zumoff went a little nuts saying "and the sixers shock the world!" over and over.
I realize they were and underdog, but a 2 seed losing one game to a 7 seed in the NBA isn't exactly shocking the world. The Red sox coming back to win after being down 3 games in the ALCS, The Giants beating the Patriots in the superbowl, If a number 16 seed ever beat a number 1 in the NCAA tournament, those things shock the world.
I personally wasn't shocked at all. I think that the sixers match up better against Boston and Detroit then they do against Cleveland. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they won this series.
