MAVERICKS - HORNETS SERIES

I think the Mavericks got a break by getting the Hornets in the first round.  True, the Hornets are a talented team, and have one of the best young players in the league in Chris Paul.  But is Paul more talented than Steve Nash was in those first couple playoff years?  The bottom line is that the Mavs have a big advantage due to their experience in the playoffs.  I see the Mavs stealing game one, and winning the series in 6.

Look for Jason Terry to emerge as the key player down the stretch.  Josh Howard rarely shows up offensively in the 4th quarter, and there's no way Byron Scott let's Dirk be the one to beat him.  The 4th quarter will be Terry's time to shine.

I hope you are right Mavs Man. The Hornets are a great team. A lot of people pick us to win the series.....i don't like when that happens.

I agree that we got a break playing the Hornets. I think the Hornets are less talented than many of the teams in the western conference playoffs. Chris Paul and Peja are very talented players but they cant carry their team through the playoffs.

 I feel bad for the Suns, they have to listen to the Spurs piss and moan for calls. I realllly hope if we advance, we face the Suns. I can't stand Duncan and his babies crying and floppin for EVERY call.

You're exactly right Hookem.  It's beyond frustrating to see them play so well in the first half, then do a 180 in the second half.  If it's that easy to make halftime adjustments against the Mavs offense, we deserve to go home after 4 games.  And who in the heck is going to step up and drive the paint?  Playoff games are won at the line.  You've gotta take the contact and get free throws or you will lose every time.  A veteran team is supposed to know how to get to the line and slow the game down when they need to.  Well, most veteran teams do - I guess not the Mavs.

If this was last year, I would say game 1 was a wake-up call.  But after their crap play in round one last year, I can't even give them that.  They just plain got outplayed in the second half and deserved to lose.  They need to step up and show something.

im sick of seeing it
