It is sad when you see your 2 Left fielders, Dellucci and Michaels, hitting for an average of something like .091. Are the Tribe higher ups that stupid to not see those figures?Heck when you are paying a guy, let alone 2 of them, to play ball part of that salary is to hit the ball. Heck, most of that salary, is to hit the ball. I remember seeing both of them last year against the Yanks, when the Canadian soldiers were in town, and remember seeing Delucci and Michaels swinging at all them bugs and still not hitting anything. Anyone else remember? LOL

Take them both and show them to the minors or the door. Ben was, and is, hitting the ball like a champ and deserves his shot to play an outfield position. I know he is more of a right fielder. Take and put Gutz in Left field and Ben in right. Ben hitting .250, is better than two guys hitting half of that.

I say that we should boycott the Indians Thread site until something happens.. Just kidding!! Then we wouldn't have anything to talk about.

Out of pure curiosity, do you think that each clubs management reads any of these threads? It would be interesting to know if management cared what we thought or see.

I would like to see Ben Francisco here. Never really liked Dellucci or Michaels and still don't know why the Tribe gave them so much money.  Overall it is only the Indians fault that the outfield is not doing as good as they want it.  This team had a lot of questions in the off season, one of the biggest was the outfield and they didn't do anything to improve it.

You guys do realize Ben was hitting .208 at Buffalo before he got the call the other day, right?

Ben is not the answer.  He's a 4th Outfielder at best.  Not saying Michaels and Looch aren't the same thing, but Ben isn't the answer over these guys.  Sorry to say....

I have to agree with Hermie, here.  It's like the quarterback-by-committee that many college football coaches use.  The reason you do it, is because you don't have ONE good answer.  In the case of the Indians, BF has been given a fair chance through spring trainings,  but he strikes out a lot, and we have plenty of guys who are above average in strikeouts.

However, Ben Francisco provides a spark (like Asdrubal last summer) that a lineup needs occasionally and no trade needs to be made to mess with chemistry.  I think they

...I think they need to keep getting Francisco the at-bats while they can and then make a decision in the weeks to come if Delucci and Michaels continue to struggle.

Ben Francisco had a great spring training and should have made the team.  I guess I would be depressed too if I was sent down to the minors again where he has no business going.  Maybe thats a reason he was hitting .208 when called up.  Michaels and Dellucci need to go.  At least Dellucci is starting hit the ball around a little, about time!  The guy though might have one the weakest arms in baseball.  Michaels just flat out sucks!

Maybe thats a reason he was hitting .208 when called up.  Michaels and Dellucci need to go.

Or maybe it's because he's just not that good.  Yeah, he had a great year last year in AAA.....he was also 25 the whole season.  He's no spring chicken.  He's 26 now....older than both Grady and Gut.  He's just like Ramirez...and I don't mean Manny.  I'm talking about Alex Ramirez.  He was phenomenal at AAA (.350+ batting average).  Where is he now?  Playing over in Japan.  he was a 4th OF and nothing more.  Same as Francisco.  Yeah he had a great spring....but it was just that, spring.  Not the same as the big leagues.

Now I agree, Michaels hasn't been getting it done.  It may be getting time to let him go.  But you won't see Francisco stay up.....Choo will take it once he's healthy as he's out of options.
