ChaChing,

I wasn't on these boards when the original "We were outcoached, outplayed" comments were made. But rest assured, while agreeing with the comments I wasn't condoning the public statements. I felt it was inappropriate. My major issue with Tiki was his announcement in the middle of the season when the Giants were really beginning to roll, that he was retiring at the end of the season. On top of that, throughout the season he complained about Coughlin publicly and didn't stop there. After he retired, he visited management and put in his other 2 cents. Now many people might think that the final 2 cents could have been the turning point of Coughlin's attitude adjustment which lead to the eventual Superbowl victory. We will never know. But Tiki left a trail of destruction behind him. I will never debate his accomplishments as I believe him to have been an elite RB for 5 years, especially after the man whom he tried to destroy taught him how to hold the ball and not fumble every other play. As far as giving the other players of note a pass, I have not. I thought they should have kept their mouths shut as well and were behaving as a spoiled team with no discipline, which is what Coughlin has always preached. That was why Coughlin was brought in in the first place.

Great job Luke.  The answer to the original question for me is a sad "no."  I had a lot of great Sundays watching Tiki and really hoped he would come back early on in the season but man, he wouldn't stop with the bashing.  Say what you want behind closed doors or in the locker room but don't say it in the media.  I think Tiki spent his final year auditioning for a TV job.  The G-Men have moved on and moved on strong.  Honestly, if Tiki played last year I don't think the Giants have a ring today.
