ESPN's Bill Williamson reports there are "major rumblings" that Raiders owner Al Davis will take Darren McFadden with the No. 4 overall pick.

If Lane Kiffin says Oakland doesn't need another tailback, Davis is probably thinking the exact opposite. Davis loves measurables, and other than Vernon Gholston, no one has better on-paper numbers than the Arkansas runner. Kiffin is likely hoping for a defensive lineman, but he isn't calling any shots.

I hope this is true and DMAC becomes a Raider.

He would be great for Oakland.

I really hope we don't take DMac with the #4.  We just have other needs and the one thing Denver proved is that damn near ANY RB can find success in the ZBS.  It just seems wasteful to spend that pick on a running back when your average 4th rounder succeeds brilliantly in the ZBS and Michael Bush seems primed to prove he is still an elite runner this year.

Dude,  Did you have one of his kids?  Are you looking to get paid? Really, this McFadden love fest is getting scary. I bet he has a restraining order against you doesn't he?  You wouldn't even be able to watch him live because it would violate the order. Something like within 1 mile...LOL   just kidden......

Darren McFadden and Michael Bush would be the best RB duo in the NFL.

What happens to fargas? The Running Back I assume you supported last season?

He will finish the season on IR, just like last year and almost every other year in his career. The guy is already injury prone and hes 28. How much does he have left? My guess is not much.

exactly Answer -

Fargas  - yes a stop gap tird system back - at best.

Bush - Do we really know how long he can take the hits on that leg? No

Rhodes - better than Fargas, but could not beat out Addai for Colts.

McFadden - Yes. the ultimate backfield mate for Bush, with Fargas a more than capable backup.

We then get a KR deluxe (Not Chris Carr) a WR out of the backfield who has the speed and vision to go the distance - finally!

And a blocker with an attitude - oh did I mention he played a more efficient QB then did his lousy Arkansas teammate.

BTW - which OL will play better than Kwame Harris in this year's draft? Your right - you don't know.

The only player which is better to draft for our team is Chris Long and he'll likely be gone. He is number one on my board, McFadden two and Sam Baker three. Outside of trading down (see my thread on 'A real possibility')

I understand our needs in other positions and although I like DMac I must agree that our backfield isn't as crowded as one may think.  Think about this:

Justin Fargas - 1 break out year and stays injured more often then not.  Given his history there is no doubt in my mind that he'll end up hurt again.  For those of you that thinks otherwise, you guys need a reality check.

LaMont Jordan - I mean the guy is a work horse....an aging work horse but let's face it, if his stiff back acts up again then what good would he do for us?  HELLOOO  anybody listening????

Michael Bush - An unapproved rookie coming off a leg injury.  Now, in all fairness let's just forget about the broken leg and say it's 100% solid.  The physical part of him will go but mentally?  I dunno....that is what bothers me most about relying on Bush in the backfield.

So,  out of the three mentioned 2 are a lock to get major playing time.  Justin and Lamont. Bush will get limited playing time and by the time the season starts I strongly believe that Lamont will get cut leaving Bush, Fargas and possibly DMAC battling it out for the starting position.  Believe me when I say there will definitely be more cuts to clear up a tad bit more cap space and LJ appears to be the most fitting given his $4 mil salary, bad back and the fact that Fargas signed a long term deal.  As for Bush, if the Raiders are sold on the fact that he's completely healed and he does well in the off season training...then why keep Lamont Jordan?   Forget about what the analyst think because if Al does what he does best and that is go for the gusto!  D Mac will be in Silver in Black.
