Well looks like this season hasnt't been what we thought it would be... We go from best record in the NBA to barely making the playoffs... It doesn't really make sense how that happens cuz personally i think we are a better team now then last year... Guess the chemistry just isn't there.. Anyways what do you guys think the Mavericks should do this offseason.... What free-agents will be out there to maybe take a look at... They need to do something cuz i cant go on watching this display for another season...

The only reason we barely made the playoffs this year is cause of how competitive the west is this year, I mean come on we won 50 games this year, thats a sign of a good team...
This offseason we need some fresh meat for a point guard, someone who could play behind Kidd and learn, and how about getting a big guy to kick some a$$....
I don't know much about the free agents, but hopefully we can steal someone like we did Bass this past off season.
what does everybody else think?

I say we do whatever it takes to get Jose Calderon from the Raptors in free agency

and try to trade up and get a big in the draft, 7 footer

I'm thinking a Hibbert, or a Lopez brother off the top of my head

Hopefully we get somebody like Gordon or Beasley, but we'll probably score one of those Lopez brothers

Hey careful, we don't want Hibbert or any Lopez brother. You think damp is bad watch hibbert play. He is even slower than damp and can't score. As for the Lopez not tough enough to play inside with the big boys. The only reason one of them was half way decent was because he was bigger than everybody else. That won't be the case in the NBA.  We need youth and players that can create there own shot. We don't have a player besides dirk that can take a guy one on one like Kobe and rise up and hit a game winner. Who is that guy in free agency that can do that. We lost are 1st round draft pick now that we made the playoffs.

I believe that this is the end of Dallas's chance to win an NBA title with their current roster.  This series showed that Dirk is pretty much playing by himself out there.  Guys like Terry, Kidd, and Stack look old and slow out there, and for some reason don't seem to be hitting the shots they once did, and Josh Howard is a shadow of what he was last season.  It's time for Dallas to blow up the team and start over, because this team has gone as far as it's gonna go.  Either that or Dirk's current supporting cast needs to go.

I am only one fan, and im not one of those who beleive that getting rid of Avery is the only answer.  Mark Cuban is mainly to blame, in his all out trade for Jason Kidd.  Dont get me wrong, I am a kidd fan and have been all his career, i still take him on my fantasy teams.  But he is what he is.  the got him like 5 years too late.  He just cant run and gun for a whole game like he used to  against younger guards.  He is still one ov the best that ever played, and if a new coach gives him the reins for short periods of time, he can run and pass his game and set up his team mates as good as he ever did.  He is not the methodical slow offense PG that avery tryed to make him.

They need to get a young good PG to back him up and let him start teaching him.  Barea is not a bad one to train, he already has a better shot than kidd, and is very quick, much lide kidd used to be, and how Nash is now.

They need to get rid of Josh Howard, as he has already shown and said he is using marijuana and he did nothing in this series, last year or this year.  I think he has been pouting about kidd getting his attention, and has just quit.  they can trade him for some good players, because he is still a great player when he wants.

Keep Dirk, Damp, Terry, and Kidd and maybe Bass.  Let the rest go find other teams or retire, and get all they can on the market for bence depth.  I think they need to maybe keep Stackhouse, who is not worth much on the market and on any given night he can score big time.  They need another big man, to help Damp, and pick up some young outside shooters, for spot up shots.  The league is all using them.  Give kidd the ball and let him find the open man after forcing the defense to come in on him in the paint.

Its not going to mesh next year i dont think, but its time to try new peices, younger peices.

I beleive your close, we dont want to throw out the baby with the bath water.  There is still a winning core here, we need to fine tune it, and get the right coach.  Dirk is still that awesome player and gets more dominant each season, however, he is at the top and will start declining in the next few years.  Its time to win now.

Now, age killed us this season.  And everyone is down on Kidd.  this is not the wrong playing peice for Dirk.  he is the right one, but the coach has got to let him get back in his game which is R & G, passing on the run, fast break, slashing, and bobbing.  He cant do it like he used to, but he is still better than anyone on the market in his game.

Leave Berea and let him learn from Kidd.  he is quick and tough, like Kidd and Nash, and has a better shot than Kidd.  Give him a year behind Kidd and he will be close to being ready to run the team, and it costs us mainly nothing extra.  Give him and kidd a chance under kidds game.

Terry is still a big gun, and excites the team and crowd he is the only other outside shooter with experience besides Dirk, keep him.

Trade Howard, he is not going to hel;p this team any more, but he is worth a lot in trades.  We cant maybe get a back up big man and some quality outside shooters, or some good trades in the draft for youth.

Bass is a keeper, but where do you use him.  Hes not a big man, not a PF, so where?  Maybe he needs to go now when he is worth more.

Thats my two cents worth.  Im not a pro, just a concerned fan.
