Great goal by Madden last night it looked like he tried to bank it.  Nobody was cutting to the net.  Maybe he was trying to get it out to the point.  Which ever it was it worked for us.  Finally Vishnevski was in the game.  But he only got 8 min on the ice.  Maybe he's a little out of shape and trying to work back.  He was plus 1 though.  We just got to keep manning up and playing physical.  The checking line was awesome and I think they kind of set the tone tonight.  Without them were probably down 3-0.

I forgot to add that that tone was set with very little ice time.  I couldn't believe they only play less then 10 min.  The very short period of time they were on the ice I felt they were excellent.  Hopefully Sutter gets them a little more time in game 4.

Agreed Bigtime, it was good to see Vishnevski out there last night and hope to see him again next game. As for Slavador, he trying hard but seems to get burnt a lot in his own zone. Him and Vishnevski are too slow to play together. Maybe Rachunek could get into a game here and replace Salvador. Maybe Rachunek could bring more offense to the table with his up-ice rushes. Also poor Madden and Martin, they must of played half the game last night. Maybe in the off-season Lou can bring us a center (could Lang have helped here?) who can win some faceoffs so Madden doesn't have to take them ALL!

Bigtime,I agree with what your saying.Vishnevski played well when in,and I didnt think he deserved a penalty.Nice when you have a power play that works. Also I do believe the Devils earned the win as they took the game to the Rangers and, with true Devils pride,Never gave up.What was refreshing is Marty didnt have his''A'' game yet the team Bailed him out,and for all Marty has done,he deserves to be bailed out once in a while.Gambi, whats going on?I agree,Madden sure is taking alot on his shoulders, but you know what,as disfuntional as the Devils have been they took a step last night in the right direction and not only climbed back into the series, but also eliminated a dusgusting sweep.Let it be known, win or lose,we DONT GET SWEPT,especially by bitter rivals.Lets Go Devils!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gambi you're 100% right, we cant have Salvadore and Vish on the same line.  Which leads to one solution and one solution only: goodbye Salvadore.  Lou, now is not the time to tell Sutter that he has to play Bryce just so you don't look like a fool for trading for him.  At this point, I'de rather see Andy Greene in the game with Vish rather than Salvadore.  I don't care what you guys say about Greene, but the first two games were not bad for him at all.  In fact, I thought he played a good physical game in game 2.  At least he has the speed and hockey smarts to cover up for Vish when he steps up to make a check.  Salvadore always looks out of position and can't skate like Greene can when he gets beat.  Greene is also better at "Paul Martin" magic and somehow actually getting the puck out of the zone.  Bryce makes bad passes and even worse decisions sometimes.  Right now, I think its better that Greene is inexperienced compared to Salvadore's experience bc it looks like Salvadores trying to do too much.  With Greene, hes been told by the coaches to play a simple game and make the safe play.  He might not be doing that great on the powerplay, but hes giving a good 8 minutes a night because thats all hes going to get anyway.  Salvadore doesn't even bring a physical aspect to the game bc he steps up to hit at inoppertune times and like I said, he can't cover up for his mistakes.  The other night it looked like he made a nice diving play on a backcheck but that was only bc Martin made an incredible play to delay the play and give him more time to get back.

On another defensive note, Johnny Oduya is really having a phenominal defensive series in my opinion.  He took a bad penalty in game 2 (or game 1 I forgot), but as far as his positioning and stickwork in the defensive zone--hes been doing a good job.

Good to see Patrik Elias bury that shot too.  Parise's was obviously a relief too, but his was a little more luck related even though he made a nice play to get the puck to the net.

I would like to personally attribute this win to Andy Greene being OFF the ice.

Thanks Andy!   Keep it up in Game 4.

Yeah Lou you absolute fool for picking up Salvador. [/sarcasm]

Anyway, Rachunek reportedly signed with an international club  for next season and upon hearing this Lou and Sutter benched him ever since so goodbye Rachunek...once a ranger always a ranger...
