Is it just me, or do the Blue Jays seem to be playing more "small ball" compared to previous years? They've been making more stolen base attempts and bunting more. Blue Jays bunting? What?? Despite what most Jays fans might think about Ricciardi and Gibbons, kudos should go out to them for sticking to their guns and doing what they said they were going to do. In fact, it was that small ball (bunt and sac fly) that directly led to an extra-inning run today which sealed their victory. If they keep this up, we might actually be seeing some meaningful games come September. Maybe.

On another note, B.J. Ryan is back and promptly earned a save. What was impressive is that he earned it despite allowing a lead-off triple. But he came back to retire the side and strand the runner at third. No strikeouts yet, but they will come soon enough.

Yeah for now I think the Jays will be playing some small ball, but I have a feeling once Rolen gets back into the lineup that will be cut back. Now with this win they can put that awful Oakland series behind them and win both games in Baltimore and take first place.

GO JAYS!

yea i agree, the sweep really boosted confidence after the Oak misshap.  I think they need to take it one game at a time, jays are famous for worrying about toamrrows and nexts weeks games, when they dont even have there foot on base yet.  Hill, Rios and Wells need to keep chugging, i personally love Johnny Mac and havent respected Ekstien yet but he is growing on me wit his batting skills.  Stairs need to step it up when he plays and tank needs to stop chasing.

GO jays

Maybe being swept by Oakland was just what they needed to get the season rolling.  I think it is funny how Litsch was the first starter to get to 2-0.  The starting pitching has been strong to open the season and the bullpen should only get stronger with BJ back in the lineup.  gibbons has definetely gotten the small ball going, as they are stealing bases fairly often.  As a Buffalo Bisons fan I am very excited to see Joey Inglett having a strong debut with the powder blue just like it was fun to watch Hector Luna play.  Is Luna on the Skycheifs case i dont see him on the roster
