If you get the chance, College Gameday (NCAA Football) is on ESPN now, tune in the show is at the Swamp.
Immediately to follow is the Florida Spring Game, yes televised.
No doubt one of the Hawai'i coaches will want to get up early and record this game, maybe Rich Miano?
This is a Big time Program that has reloaded.
Reloaded not only with recruits by everything that they can.............
Hawai'i will be going in to the Swamp with a .22 lr pocket pistol, while Florida is holding a scoped .340 Weatherby Magnum rifle at 400 yards.

I have it on right now and I think you are so right about what will happen to Hawaii when they visit the Swamp though I think the Gators O will hit them with a Tomahawk. I want to see how the Gators D handle the Rainbows offense.

Yankee, I don't know what will happen, but I think it will be the other way around: The Gator defense will score more points than the Hawai'i O and the Special teams will be good for another 24 points.
Notice that the Gators put up 35 points on offense in 12 minute quarters, and these were limited sets. Talking about numbers, there were over 50,000 at the swamp for this Spring Game but Aloha Stadium maxes out at 50 K.
What really shocks my shirt off is all the freshmen and sophmores that Florida will start. Dunlap is 280 pounds, 6' 4" the fastest defensive end and he is 19.
The pre-game festivities were interesting. I like the sprint competition open to any comers.
Well Yankee, it will be a new offense with new players for Hawai'i at Florida. I look at Florida's speed and size to negate anything that Hawai'i gets going. Florida is at home and won't have any jitters but Hawai'i is not accustomed to playing in front of this caliber crowd and noise. Once this freight train gets rolling Hawai'i will have to get its Porsche off the tracks. Look for Florida to run up the score and then score a hundred points over all that happened last year over the Heisman shuffle. Urban is not a happy Gator.

Well I did enjoy watching the spring game on ESPN today. It was good to get my Gators fix
I have no idea what offense Hawaii will run now that June Jones took his high scoring offense with him to SMU. I know this is a major step up in the quality of opponent for Hawaii especially for so early in the season. Yes the crowd will be insane in the Swamp. When I was in school there the place only held about 55,000 and it would shake during games when they were playing well. I once thought it was going to fall down after a big game that we won.
Florida should be capable of putting a ton of points on the board against any defense in the country. They are an offensive juggernaut. Tebow, Harvin, Rainey, James, Moody and more will come at any team in waves.
Dunlop did look like a beast. He has come out of nowhere. The defense was the question mark last year as it was so young and very vulnerable to the pass. If pass coverage is improved, which also means a better pass rush they should contend for the national Tittle again this year. They have a freshman nose tackle coming in who is supposed to be a run stopper all by himself at 6 4 315 lbs or so.
I would have feared Colt Brennan matching them point for point last year but I have no idea what to expect as I said before from this years team. I do expect a win and know Florida will be a very large favorite but only time will tell.

Florida is the favorite already no question. It was good to get a football fix but scary to see how good Florida is already. It looks to me that the defense will be improved but my thoughts are how they will do against Georgia and LSU, I am really looking forward to the game against the top SEC opponents.
Florida has and will be vunerable to the pass from the coverage that they play. The Warriors do not play well on the Mainland and they have always struggled at altitude (Utah and Colorado) and traveling a long way. These are the factors that make them seem like two different teams in the same season. Last year so many things came together.
They still have big money and facility problems that are just beginning to be addressed. It is not difficult for Florida to out recruit Hawai'i.
The last two seasoners that Florida played their home opener it took them until the 2nd half to get rolling on offense. I don't see that problem the way the offense rolled today.

Florida's speed on both sides of the ball is what is impressive. The explosiveness is in another class from what I've seen at UH so far.
The Warriors will need all the defense and offensive weapons that they can suit up. Thank goodness that this is a nonconference game so UH can get everyone it wants and needs to the Swamp!

Kanaka, Graunke was supposed to be the starter now he has fallen to 3 or 4, there is a sea of change going on in "the Island in the Middle of the Sea."
It appears to be an upbeat offense more of a pro set style than the run and shoot. Hawai'i has a chance small probability to keep it within 20 points of the spread against Florida, but they need to borrow some of the Florida speed to make it a possibility.
I am starting to think that Rousch has a shot with his progression. On the other side of the country Urban Meyer is worried about Tim Teebow staying in the pocket and developing as a quarterback. He only has one Heisman and a rocket arm to go with all the weapons around him. Poor kid.
So when Hawai'i wins and goes undefeated they will get to the NC game. Right! That will be like one in eleven thousand chance. How anyone gets a > 1% chance out of that is beyond me? On the bright side there is better than a one in five chance that the Warriors will put up 3 or more points. That is the hot tip from Vegas, go make some money with that tip brah.

Graunke is back to Co-number one according to the Advertiser. He still has some stiff competition ahead.
We'll see.

Yankee, I hate to admit it, but it looks like you are right.
Florida has a Big O to go with their defense and special teams in 2008. It seems unfortunate that the two best teams in the country Georgia and Florida will have to play each other in a regular conference game and they are both in the same division.

Yankee relax, you do not have to worry about the offense or the defense for Florida this coming year.
You will be in a Bowl after New Year's.

I'm just interested in seeing how the Bows will handle the heat in Florida. I know it's hot here, but Florida's a different kind of heat. It'll be interesting to see if anybody gets severe cramps or anything.

Moufpuncha, it will be hotter than anything they have ever been in.
Turn the oven on high and go get your mother's / wife's hair dryer and plug it in next to the oven set on high-heat. Open the oven and stick your head inside, turn on the hairdryer and blow it in your face........................
all this while you have headphones playing Metallica at volume 10 (Max). Now if you survived this for 4 minutes get ready to be hit by a 280 pounder that runs like a deer on your blind side while your head is still inside the oven.
Hawai'i will not be able to simulate it unless they are practicing in a giant sauna and hire some NFL linebackers to hit them.
Yes there will be severe cramps. Hawai'i will have to platoon players.

Yoko that is serious heat, there was a player who did in spring ball at UCF a little over a week ago and it is not even summer yet.
Some players are saying that Grorge O'Leary worked them too hard when the new kid died.
yes an oven sounds like it will be hard on both teams, it is Florida's oven for sure. Take some mighty high quality H2O and IVs.

Yoko, well if that is the case, the Warriors will not have any problems with any hot game days the rest of the year.
Maybe Hawai'i can get its own kind sports drink like Menehune Magic to counter Gator Aide, Mac Magic for short, of course if they pull up the upset everyone can say Magic is better than Gator Aide.
From what I saw of Spring ball I do not see any kind of upset happening in this game, except for my stomach. No worry got my depends.

Yes it is Kanaka, it already reached 90 F in some parts of Central FL.
Some fans in the SEC think that the Hawai'i Warriors are smoking pakalolo everyday. If this is the case they will be dying out in the heat at the Swamp.
I can't imagine drinking beer all day in that kind of heat. When I was at the Kentucky Derby Infield there were many people passed out in the heat from drinking all day and they would get picked up by the golf cart ambulance.
It must be nice to be in the Big Luxury Box with AC!
