I think that Jorge Posada will catch for this year and maybe next and then become a full time DH.

You guys should start a Best SS thread...

"You can not bank on* potential"

Thats what tried to say right? well, the same can be siad about you and your beliefs about how good the yankee  rookies are.

How much did the "best team in history cost"?

I never said the Yanks rookies were good I said that we have good young talent, I never claimed that they were the "best" at their position like you did Hanley Ramirez despite statistics that prove otherwise.

As far as the best team in history, it cost $73,963,698 2nd in the MLB to Baltimore.

Posada, I think, will be back behind the plate, catching.

Moving him to 1B? What about Morgan Ensberg? He will step up and produce, as he has proved so in the past. Maybe you sign a average 1B free-agent, and let him and Ensberg split the time, so Ensberg gets used to the system. I know Ensberg isn't the guy that can step up and everything will be fine, but ease him into the starting job. Isn't that why you got him in the 1st place?

But, also, ever think about the idea of extending Giambi's contract? He's gotten a better fielder, actually, and although he can only produce a little batting, his Power and strength are just what the Yankees need. They don't have alot of Home-run guys that bomb it out every day, such as Ryan Howard, David Ortiz, etc. Some players produce at the power end, but Giambi could play 1B.

Overall, you can move things around with Ensberg and Free Agency, possibly Giambi, to find a good fit. The Yankees are a smart team and they'll know what they need and when they'll need it.

Posada is going to catch for maybe two of the four years on his contract since the catcher they are grooming to replace him got taken out in the preseason he will need another year of minor league time.

1B will never be a option if the Yankees can find there way to sign Teixeira to replace Giambi (and it will cost even less!!! (maybe 5 years 98 million) so look for the final two years to be as DH.

In fact Jeter averages 77 rbi to Ichiros 61 and 114 runs scored to Ichiros 101. That includes the injury shortened 2003 season.

Yes hopefully Posada will get back in form. Good clutch hit tonight and partial luck that the left fielder didnt catch it.

I would like to make a point however.
Now with Baseball not having a Salary Cap, many teams have different ideas to find a way to win. Boston and New York have been known to spend money to try and make their team better. (Dice K and all the money just to talk to him?)
Also without the Yankees, Mets, Angels, Dodgers and Red Sox. Many Many teams would not be able to support themselves. The Yankees shell out alot of money to the league. The same goes for the Cowboys and Redskins in Football... but that's kinda off topic.
The point is there are different ideas. From the Marlins and getting very young players and then letting them play to the Yankees and getting the big contract or trading for players.

If it was all the same wouldn't it be boring?

Typically Ichiro doesn't even account for the most total run on his own team.

i love when you comepare the RBI's and Runs of Jeter and Ichiro. both of those stats depend on on players of the team. to get RBI's you need people on base and Ichiro's team doesnt have "overpaid players". meaning that they dont have any good players besides Ichiro. and runs depends on having people on his team getting hits. Which is an advantage to the Yankees, because they had a top 10 offense for as long as i could remember.

Why dont you compare Homeruns, Average, Hits and Steals. then see if those stats are even close. I can tell you they are not. Ichiro leagues the league in average and hit since entering the league. and he hits more homeruns then jeter, not by much but its still more. and jeter never stole more then 30 bases and Ichiro beats him in that category.

So compare those stats more. Jeter would not be as hyped as he is if he didnt play in New York. I'm not saying hes not a good player, but hes not a great player and is not worth 20 Mill a year. thats for sure.
