just read on espn that Love and Collison will enter draft and hire agents. westbrook is likely to do the same. this will leave us with a very young, and guard oriented team next year. too bad, Kevin really could use another year.
As expected both will hire sport agents. I posted on the other thread that it's no way Love and Collison will attend Spring Quarter due the type of classes they took. Especially Collison who as a Junior, he is yet to declare for a Major. That alone is an indicator that he's leaving. Westbrook is also hasn't declared for a Major and I wouldn't be surprised he will declare in the days to come.
according to Brian Dohn of the LA daily news the report on espn about love and collison is not true. Brian spoke with collison who said he hasnt made a decision yet. and Love's mother said no decision was made yet. take that for what its worth. i feel that these two are gone regardless if its official yet or not. here is the link: www.insidesocal.com/ucla/
It will be a bad day for UCLA if all three of these players decide to declare for the NBA. All three aren't ready if u ask me who is the closest to being so it would be Westbrook. Love is a great player but think if he stays he would be a top 3 pick for sure in the next couple of years. Collison got schooled over and over and over again by MR. ROSE he definitely aint ready. Imagine if they came back they would be the favorite for sure i mean a lineup that includes Love Westbrook Collison Keefe Shipp Holiday coming in next year and Mbah a Moute. That would be tough to compete with.
K.Love : So tell me again Mr.Gray, should I make myself available for the NBA draft ?
Stuart Gray : As an former alumnus to your fine University I highly endorse it. Heck, I will even be your agent. We have a lot in common ya know.
We both played Center at U.C.L.A. and just like me I also left the University early back in 1984. Yep, I had a nice underachieving 7 year career in the N.B.A. But don’t let that stop you. It’s all about making the money now.
So what if Bill Walton and Lew Alcindor stayed all 4 years and led their teams to NCAA Championships. You are different and special. Just keep telling yourself that. U.C.L.A. should be grateful to have had you for just one year.
Yep, time to move on now and grab the cash.....and that was 10 % to be your agent, right ?
That's tough if the reports are true. I think it's early for Collison and Westbrook. Love might be able to adapt to the NBA but he will be a lottery pick around 5th to 10th.
If he decides to stay another year and refine his game, he will be a top 3 for sure.
Is that for real? If so, I have lost all utter respect for Stuart Gray. Wow make an idiot of yourself why don't you??? I think that Love entering the draft at the end of his sophmore year is completely and utterly wrong. He has so much more to learn and the the tremendous amount of raw talent the kid has already shown, he could be something amazing with a few more years of college experience under his belt. Love has to stay, he'll get more money in the end if he does.
" I think that Love entering the draft at the end of his sophmore year is completely and utterly wrong."
Well, it might actually be better for him to enter the draft at the end of next year as he has still not finished his Freshman year at U.C.L.A. just yet.
Perhaps Tim Duncan should pull this kid aside and set him straight. Staying four full years at Wake Forest did not hurt Tim in the least. The 6' 11" Center finished his college career as the second-leading shot blocker in NCAA history, and remains one of only ten players with more than 2,000 career points and 1,500 career rebounds.
Oh, and by the way, guess who was drafted first over all in the 1997 NBA draft ?
You could learn a lot from someone who has been there Kevin !! Do the right thing and stay in school.
well it looks like Kevin Love is going to leave after all. according to Brian Dohn of the LA Daily news Love will make an announcement this week. here is the link: www.insidesocal.com/ucla/
I thought love was one and done from the beginning. He is a true big bodied center, which the NBA sorely lacks, if his strength continues to develop he could be one of the top centers in the NBA, and he is just about guaranteed to be a lottery pick, from everything I've heard, a 7-12, and probably a guaranteed 10M contract, which is more then most people make their entire lives. As for Collison, I thought he might leave after this season, and be a early to mid second round pick. Westbrook is quite a surprise though, I hope he doesn't hire an agent, because I don't see him going any earlier then a mid 2nd rounder, if he even gets drafted.
