though i root for the hawks, im not a big hockey fan.. not too familiar with all the players.  from what i saw of the hawks this year it looks as if they need a guy who can score 50+ goals to solidify this team. marty havlat looked as if he couldve been that guy but he seems to always get hurt..   is there a guy on the free agent market or in the upcomeing draft that the hawks can go after this off season.

I'd love to see them land Brian Campbell.  I don't think the Hawks are going to land a 50 goal scorer.  Those are pretty rare.  We only had three guys in the league put up 50 goals or more this season.  I think with Havlet (If his shoulder could hold up for 60 games), Toews, Kane, Byfuglien, and Sharp have the potential to score over 30 next season, and that should provide enough scoring to get the team to the playoffs.  What the Hawks need to land in the playoffs is a scoring defense man like Campbell that can QB the power play and get the offense going.  I'd also love to see the Hawks land an enforcer in the free agent market too.  We need someone who can protect the kids.

I think they will go after some sort of "offensive defenseman".  I wouldn't mind if they passed on that route though and went after Marian Hossa!!!

Isn't Hossa a Havlat in sheep's clothing? HAHA Seriously. He seems to get hurt a lot.

I see the Hawks improving quit a bit this offseason.  They raised ticket prices, so they need to make a big impact.   They are expected, in a few mock drafts, to take a big center in Colin Wilson from Boston College.

There are a few good free-agent out there.  Right Wingers Hossa, Pavel Demitra or Radim Vrbata would be a good fit.

If they can't get Defenseman Brian Campbell, Brad Stuart would look good in a Hawk uni.  In fact, I would rather have Stuart.

Centers I like, Brendan Morrison or Daymond Lankow.  Not huge names, but fir the Hawk style.  Sleeper for center (insert your chuckle here) Jason Krog, who plays for the Wolves.  Although no longer young at 31, he can be a great sniper.

Thats my take.  Commit to the Indian. And GO ICE HOGS in the playoffs!
