Obviously, Tiger is the hottest golfer out there right now and quite possibly golfing as well as anyone ever has right now. Still, there is a large field of very skilled golfers at the Masters this weekend and surely a few will have some great rounds. What do you think the odds are of Tiger winning this weekend and why?

I think he'll probably win, but obviously another golfer could have a couple great rounds and knock him out (50-75% that he will win).

I can't see him not winning it considering how hot he is and how focused he is on his game right now but there is always a chance for someone else to win so  i said Very Tough to Beat - 75%-100%

Yeah i think hes got around a 70% chance of winning.  I find it hard to not take the field against him time after time but he proves me wrong every time.  I'm a fan of his and the only others I can say I cheer for are Freddy and Daly so I hope he kicks as ad wins.

Even Eldrick himself wouldn't rate this, or any tournament, a lock.  Especially this tournament.  These aren't called "majors" for no reason.  If they were as easy as other tournaments he's won this year, and might have called a lock, then it would be just another tournament which it isn't.

I agree. There are several reasons that Tiger may not win:
(1) this is a major, which is difficult not just because of course conditions but also because of the pressure
(2) this is golf - enough said
(3) several other players have been doing well recently - Geoff Ogilvy, Vijay Singh, Phil Mickelson (not that recently but he has had a way of doing well at the Masters, especially in the even numbered years - '04, '06 etc.)

I will go ahead and say that Tiger will NOT win. In golf you generally do not win! Having said that, go Tiger..!!

I took the 50-75 range.  There are several things that could stop him from winning.

Weather Conditions-if it fast and dry like last year then the scores will be high, that is a great leveling affect.  if it is slow and wet, then the course will be low scoring and that probably advantages Tiger Woods.

Competitors-Vijay Singh won the last time he and Woods competed against one another.  Some say Oglivy is playing well this year, Mickleson has not played well at all this year, but he could still get hot.  Any player could get hot, play out of his mind and beat woods; like Zach Johnson did last year (what did he do the rest of the year, nothing)

I think woods will win though because he lost the last time he played and he is going to be burning up over that, particularly since he lost that tournament, someone did not play ridiculously good he simply play poorer than the other guys after he had the lead (but he still only lost by  two strokes).

He is playing some of the best golf that we have seen this decade and there seems to be no won who is consistently challenging him.
