I kinda like seeing Juan Uribe at second. He has a great arm for a second baseman. Did you see him gun that chump down at 3rd? Also was it 2 or 3 double plays that we turned with them two Juan and O-Dogg. Now if we could get his bat going he would be great.
GO SOX!!!!
Great Sweep of the detroit kittens. Best line up in baseball my arse

Finally someone other than me giving props to Uribe. He is doing an awesome job at second and I personally feel he has been the strongest infielder defensively. He also popped a homer in a one run win. Uribe is playing good defense and isn't killing you out of the 9 hole with the bat, just like i said. Quentin in left has been a joy to watch as well. 7 rbi's in 4 games. His base running has been great as well- beating that force at second, advancing from first to third on a single, making third base on his late inning triple from tonight alone. Yah he did take one off the face but hopefully that is a one time thing in the field. Swisher has been moving around the bases as well. He is a good baserunner. I am encouraged by this first road trip...cleveland and detroit on the road opening up the season and you come home 4-2 (coulda been 5-1 with decent umpiring) is a good sign for 2008. hopefully they keep this up.

I don't like Juan at 2nd, but he's not the worst option in the world out there.
His offense is gonna kill you, but I like the vibe of this ballclub, and if having Juan on the field helps it, keep him out there.

Uribe is Uribe. He will bat 250 wit 20 hrs. However, he will give you very good defense at 2nd, which is all they need from him. No way Paulie and Dye repeat last years plate performance. This year they have guys to get on base at the top of the order, so all Uribe needs to do is what he did today. Play very good D, and yes I think he will throw a few guys out this year goin from first to third on singles

His offense won't kill you. He hits a lot of shots in the gaps, down the lines, and out of the park.... he has an awesome throwing arm at second as evidence by all of those double plays turned tonight and the cannon to third to get santiago by 5 feet. Cabrerra on the other hand should have a lot more errors than Uribe- don't see how that one he bobbled tonight wasn't an error, plus there were 2 i believe in the opener that should have been errors-especially the one that started Buehrle's collapse in the 2nd. Uribe takes a lot of heat from the White Sox fans who all go out and buy konerko jerseys. Konerko was more of a problem last year than Uribe and he is starting this year out like garbage too. Thome also has looked awful since his opening day home runs. These two guys need to start to hit. AJ and JD can't keep on carrying the team when the 3/4 guys in the order are hitting .200. I am really sick of Konerko. I think if anyone holds the team back this year it will be him. From his rally killing ways at the plate to his terrible base running (you don't have to be fast to be a good base runner), I think he does more harm than good.
With Quentin looking great in left, Swisher getting on base a lot, and the teams need for one speed demon (Owens), Konerko should be dealt soon. Then Swish moves to first Owens to center Quentin in left. The team will be better without him.

I agree that he is our best option out there now, and has played a good defensive 2B so far. However, he still scares me at the plate, and has not come through in several situation where need to either get in runner in or get a runner over. Ramirez needs to get more PT there, and Pablo too. Honestly, I still wish they would have let Juan go and kept Iguchi, who I always liked , and is tearing it up in SD so far.

I do like the double play combo of Cabrara and Uribe. I believe they turned four DPs in the series finale against the Tigers. I can stomach all of his strikes out if they keep turning double plays like that. Cabrara and Uribe could be a decent rally killer.

Juan's doing fine and will continue to... Someone above said he will hit .250 with 20 HR's and probably 70ish RBI's.. Find another 9th place hitter that will deliver those type of power numbers.. Oh, and he also needs to out-du him in the field.. You won't.. You might find a better 2 Bagger, but you won't find one better with his combination of skills in the field and his bat in the 9 hole.. If you have been watching the past few games, he's taking a much different approach to hitting and isn't chasing bad pitches, or as many bad pitches.. He had an AB last night that he took a walk.. After I picked myself up off the floor from the shock of him walking, I replayed the at-bat and there were alot of close pitches that he laid off of; one's he would have took a big hack at last year... Oh, not to mention that O-Dogg and Juan / Joe and Juan are looking terrific turning double plays.. Now we just have to re-teach Joe how to throw to 1B.. LOL..
Go SOX!

I will be the first to admit that I was not thrilled with Uribe at second, but the old saying goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Have you seen the way Juan is starting to take pitches? I think he has two walks the last two games. Now if he can only lay off the high fast ball.....
