"We kind of collided and then there was pushing and shoving," Gaborik said. "We happened to drop gloves. Those things happen."

Laperriere said he doesn't expect the fight to carry over to the playoffs.

"A little push around, he punched me, I punched him back," he said. "It's intense out there. We're going to see each other in the next couple of weeks, but I wouldn't make a big deal about it."

Ian, you're a dead man.

I heard Boogie won the lot to get first try at him, than Simon in the second, and Fedoruk gets the dirty seconds in the final frame.

I was thinking the same thing!! Can he really be that dumb. To try and fight our best guy. He is going to have a target on his back  every game. We are the toughest team. Not a smart move on his part.

Yup; Laperriere made a big mistake and is already trying to go into damage control mode to try and justify his hiding like a rat later.  Boogey or Chris Simon need to send a message early (and often, if needed) in the playoffs that anyone who violates the Code of Conduct and goes after the non-fighting skill players will have to pay a stiff price.

Personally, I'd like to see Martin Skoula drop 'em; if he manages to tattoo Laperriere, the X will go completely berserk.

Are you serious when you say you have the roughest team. The Avs are very physical and I would like to see the series get rough. We have a lot of young players that like being physical and we also have 3 guys waiting to get the call up for playing and fighting. I think if this series goes physical, the Avs have a huge advantage.

Are u guys imbreds? I thought that only happened in Kentucy. your pretty boy tough guy with the visor started it and lappy sure as hell wasn't gonna bow down to the visored tough guy. lappy even took it easy on him and left the gloves on. o and have u guys ever watched playoff hockey? Fighting is more rare than brain cells in Minnesota. Not even Booger wants to miss out on 5 minutes of playoff hockey. Plus how's grampa Lemaire gonna feel when ur guy gets the instagator and we score? Let Gaborik do his own laundry and give the revenge talk a rest.

You got knocked out of the playoffs by us when we had nobody, you had Sakic and Floppa in their prime(though Floppa was still a pu$$y) and you still got beat by us.

Makes me laugh that you think you can win this time around when the Wild have talent and you have an old Sakic, a hurt Forsberg, and Theodore in the nets.

Ian is a dead man.  You don't go after a Gaborik player...ever.  I would like to see your reaction if Simon went after Sakic or Forsberg.  Forsberg would probably piss his panties.

Go ahead and worry about retribution for Lappy. The Avs will just worry about putting the puck in the net and giving Backstrom a bad case of sunburn on the back of his neck from the goal light going on too much.
