Haha, I love how whitedude08 is desperately seeking attention like a little kid and we're just ignoring him and continuing to talk about our season. Keep it up, Beaver fans!

I think that this season could go either way. I'm going to be attending fall practice (well, watching at least), so I'll probably post my prediction after I've seen McCants and Jacquizz as well as our new D-Front in action. I think we could feasibly win 10 games, or quite possibly lose 10. It all depends on...

A) The Two Headed Monster of Moevao/Canfield. Can it be tamed into a genuine Pac-10 QB?

B) Developing a solid rushing game. Plenty of talent, no experience. We'll see.

C) Keeping the pressure on up front. Can this Beaver squad hold teams to minimal rush gains like the past years teams have?

D) Special Teams = Please Improve! Having Sammie back at Punt Returner will help, but a new starting punter and kicker will leave this important part of the game in the limbo.

I think that if we can do at least 3 of these 4 things decently, we'll have ourselves a winning season, hands down. If we can do all 4 decently, we can expect a visit to Las Vegas/El Paso.

However, if we do all 4 WELL, and that's a big if, I can see us heading to the Holiday Bowl. That's basically the ceiling I see for this year. Next year? They have the potenial to be the toast of the Pac-10 (behind USC).

I agree with the plenty of talent.  The more I hear about Jeremy Francis and Ryan McCants the more and more I think we have a couple of star RB's and Jaquizz Rodgers hasn't even joined yet.  Now we just have to hope the offensive line develops enough to give them the holes to make those runs.

Do you think Riley might go with some sort of 2 RB formations or would that be something that would be delevoped for '09?

I think we have to throw ASU in there as a tough game as well.  They have a lot of returning talent from last year.

I didn't think ASU was as good as their 10-3 record.  There were 3 games that ASU should have lost, including the OS game.  If we don't turn over the ball like we did in the last game, then the ASU game, while tough, will be a W for OS.

I really hope he mixes in a fullback. Jacquizz did run alot from one back sets and they ran alot of zone read late in his highschool career but he was extremely effective from the I-Formation. The guy reads blocks so well he always got 6 to 10 yards if he didnt take it to the house behind a fullback. His highschool coach cost him some yards and nearly cost Lamar the season by not using the "I" enough. Ofcourse the difference between Quizz in highschool and Quizz in college is that there wont be 9 men in the box all knowing who is getting the ball.

As big a fan as I am of the Rogers bros, Im starting to wonder if redshirting Quizz isnt the best option. From what ive read these kids McCants and Francis sound like they are the real deal. Quizz got a ton of carries in highschool a year off might now be the worst thing but damn im really curious to see how he translates to big time college football.

The passing game improvement this year, if it improves greatly should open up the run game to make for a nice 1-2 punch for the beavs if it all pans out correctly.  If the offense flops and can't work together and we have to ground pound a lot more, then I see it being much more of a big question mark.

The Redshirt option would be interesting, but I would like to see the I-form come back especially if those back can catch an run out in the flat.

Dude, what's wrong with having a black coach? White coaches are the same people as black coaches, so I don't know what is wrong with having a black coach.

Not to start an argument, but I am offended by racism, period. Watch what you are saying.

oh no! your offended!  well let me be sure and censor myself for all the v-chippers out there.  since when did you become the standard of decency on this board?  the last time i checked this was a free country where a man is free to share his ideas.  it is very self-righteous of you to feel that we should all adhere to your comfort level.

That was Whitedude/Paterno.  He created a new profile.  Like I said, ignore him and he will eventually go away.
