Most tennis fans probably do. I always enjoyed watching Hingis play; her style always made me think she was playing chess more than tennis. The men's game, between conditioning and equipment, seems to be baseline to baseline action. As a kid, I loved watching men's tennis. Now, I couldn't name more than five or six men's players.
However, as I stated, most MEN (not necessarily tennis fans) watch women's tennis because there are a lot of hot chicks that play tennis and wear short skirts. No matter how good the play, most MEN won't really care. The point being even the most popular women's sports will never reach the equivalent of popularity of the most popular men's sports. The entire article about women's b-ball reaching the quality of men's b-ball and what the consequence of this is was pointless.
