Our spring game was a couple of weeks ago, and there was nothing spectacular from it. The starters only played for a short time, and for the first three quarters of the game, the quarterback was down if he was touched. There were several plays where Matt Grothe would have had big gains on scrambles but was ruled down because a defensive lineman was able to lunge and barely touch him. He ended up 5 for 5 for something like 80 yards before coming out of the game. Selvie had 4-5 sacks, but most were of the touch variety so it was hard to judge how he really did.
The good news was that nobody got hurt, and the coaching staff got a chance to see some players who normally don't play in a game situation.
Our spring games are usually pretty boring, and this one was no different. The final score was 6-3 with all points on field goals. I guess we'll have to wait for the fall to see how good we're going to be.
How has Michigan looked this spring? Have you noticed any differences yet under Rodriguez?
