Well, the Hawks have officially been eliminated from the playoffs after Nashville's 3-2 victory over St. Louis this evening.  Overall, I think it is safe to say that the season was a step in the right direction compared to our sickening past as of late.  The fans have been coming back in droves (tomorrows game is sold out).  I think this erases any doubts that Bill Wirtz turned off so many Hawks fans over the years to the point where 6,000 fans at a game was a good turn out.  I think we got exactly what we expected from this team this year, a borderline playoff team that was competitive at least half of the games.  Their downfall obviously was their inconsistancy and lack of experience, though.  They had at least 2 or 3 huge losing streaks this year that ended up killing their playoff chances.

Now that we will soon be going into the offseason, it will be interesting to see what Dale Talon decides to add via free agency.  It looks like Wisniewski may be gone, but they had better resign him because he's an important player on this team.  Havlat has one more year left and it will be interesting to see if he is coming back.  One player I won't mind seeing gone is Rene Bourque, although he did look a little better towards the end of the year.  Habby will be back, and hopefully he can stay healthy because he is our best goalie.  We'll see what happens, but it's look good for now.

And isn't it disappointing that these boys are done playing for the year? What a fun and exciting group!

I can't wait for the Blackhawks to bring that roar back bigger and louder in 2008-'09!

GO HAWKS!!

It's so fantastic to have real hockey back in this town. My brother's and son's have been attending games and the difference now is that you can tell the old timer's are back. This was never more eveident then when you heard the crowd doing the "Detroit S*cks" chant. The place was rocking and so much different than the home opener againt the Wings. Hopefully next year we can boost those damn Wing fans out of our seats. There was about half the crowd on opening night that were Wing fans. We're not done for the season yet and I'd like to see Kane win the rookie point race. I can't wait to see who Tallon bring's in. I think he will have a better choice this year because people will want to actually come here now. Let's Go Hawk's!

Man...I don't want the season to end.  I'm enjoying this team too much right now.  I think that the Hawks would have easily made the playoffs if we wouldn't have lost Toews for those four weeks in January.  And it is amazing to see how far this team has come in just the last 7 months.  Next season can't start soon enough!

The expeirience the Hawks gained this year  will definatly have an impact next year and the years to come.  Dale Tallon has a knack, it seems, to put the right mix of chemistry together on this team.  Each player has his own role.  Can't wait to see what happens this offseason.  And as a fan, I have commited to the Indian.
