HDawg, name me one solid player that has wanted to play for the Knicks prior to the 2003 NBA draft? These guys weren't here yet and the best the Knicks could do since then was go after guys like Eddie Curry and Jamal Crawford. B talent at best. You would think with Curry, Crawford and Marbury you would have something, but obviously not. The only good think the Knicks did since the '03 draft was draft Channing Frye, Nate Robinson, and David Lee. You're telling me if those 3 guys were still here in 2010 with the rest of the crap out of the way, Lebron would not be enticed to come over? Regardless that Frye is no longer with the club, the team has depth. Cleveland can pay him as much as they want, but he's going to have to ask himself, can I win here in a small market, or can I win big in Brooklyn, New York, or Miami??

They have been unable to lure in any of the top free agents since LeBron was there despite the fact they would have the chance to play with perhaps the best player in the league and it is not b/c of him, but b/c of the market not being attractable to free agents.
No, the Cavs have NOT HAD THE SALARY CAP ROOM FOR FREE AGENCY. Keep hoping that Lebron will come and save the Knicks. It's not going to happen. I'm not even a Cavs fan, I hate the Cavs, but this is where Lebron is going to be unfortunately.

Well for starters my friend I can name you two player's who have lobbied for wanting to be on the Knicks and that is Kobe Bryant and Jermain Oneal Kobe was a long shot because I don't think L.A would of let him leave, but he did say out his own mouth that NY was one of his desired destinations and looking at how he did up at the Rucker's he would of been King of NY had it worked ou that way, and as far as O'neal goes the guy is very talented and would of fit better on this team then Randolph because he is a unselfish player and he play's solid Defense he also said that he wouldn't mind Coming to NY oh yeah and we have Artest even though he is more confused than most you can't question his heart , gut's and desire so there you have it three solid candidates kobe's not gonna happen but the other two would fit right in should it work out that way.

nyjets 426, thank you for proving my point. They did one other good thing since the '03 Draft, if you could believe it, and that was draft Wilson Chandler. I think he is going to be a nice player based on what we've seen, but needs time and development. They should not have traded Frye; I know they had to get rid of Francis when they traded him for Randolph, but he cannot play with Curry and he clearly spends too much time on the perimeter. He plays like a SF rather than a PF. If he was here along with Lee and Nate, he would definitely want to come to NY in 2010. I also feel things will be better by 2010; we will have much relief and with Walsh as President of Basketball Ops not wanting to make big signings that will effect the cap, this may be wishful thinking, but hopefully we will be able to make a run at LeBron. If not, he will end up with the Nets, and to be able to watch this incredible player play every game would be great. For your question at the end, you know he would choose Brooklyn over Cleveland over where he thinks he can win b/c Brooklyn is in NYC, many players were born and bred there, and it will be very attractable to free agents. Cleveland is a small market in the middle of the country that has failed to make major signings for that reason despite the fact that LeBron is there. Face it, without him, the Cavs would be competing with the Knicks for one of the worst NBA records. And even if the Nets or Knicks offered him less than the Cavs did, with the endorsement money, he would end up making more in a major market so there's your answer. He would choose the big market

ok i always see people posting up bulletins about making trades so im going to try and make a logical lineup that could potentially work...if walsh wakes up:
PG-Raymond Felton- heres a guy who is overlooked because he is in the shadows of deron and paul. he cant be happy with the road charlotte is taking and they might not resign him because he may ask for too much.
SG-crawford- this doesnt change, he is a solid lock at the position and he is able to score at will...if he isnt shooting blindfolded. however he is usually racking up around 20 a game and is good with clutch shooting.
SF- Shawn Marion- i dont think he signed an extention with miami and he is going to ask for some money. the Knicks would be smart to throw their weight into this boat and if not, AK-47 would be another wise choice
PF- David Lee- cant miss guy here. great potential if the coach plays him. work ethic and hustle is good and he averages double doubles when he plays enough time. would be stupid to lose him
C- kevin love- this guy is who we need to draft in june. he is a 7'0 center who could dominate. great scoring ability, great rebounding ability and will be a force to reckon with for years to come.
thoughts?

And that my friend is the reason why you are an amatuer, nah but on a real note these moves look good on paper but there is just too many other things to be addressed before this team can even think of adding someone like Marion, and Felton b/c remember the sole purpose of moving forward is to clear contracts and cap space for a more solid player as in Lebron, or to even have enough room to go after several solid players like our former GM Ernie Grunfeld when he went and got Allan Houston, Drrick Harper, then turned around and made several changes that not only catapulted us into the playoffs and eventually to the finals. If management moves wisely then we too can have a solid outlook once again my bad if I strayed from what you were thinking about but i'm just looking at the bigger picture.

Its only a Mecca to ethnocentric idiots like you. Get over yourself NY. Just because 13 million of you choose to live on top of each others filth doesn't mean the rest of us give a rats ass about the place.

Are you calling me an idiot b/c what I am trying to say has nothing to do with where I choose to live? It is about the fact that other posters on this blog believe that LeBron would choose NY over Cleveland not b/c it is a bad place to play, but because Cleveland has not been able to lure free agents despite the fact LeBron is there and playing in a major market would bring him record endorsements that would make his contract, even if it is lower than what the Cavs would offer him, even larger than if he stayed in Cleveland. Big time players like LeBron love the spotlight and besides getting excessive coverage for games, he would not get that attention in a city like Cleveland, but would in a city like NY, Chicago (a Midwest city like Cleveland), or LA.
