Anita, so good to see you back.

Lord, just touch KIR and her family, raise her up so she can continue to do the work you have given her.

It is so good to have this thread, if nothing else just to read it and know there are other believers out there.

Thanks, jjoey, it is really good to be back.  I am going to venture out and try a little weed eating as I have a crop to get into the ground.  I have a few more posts to make before heading out and then it is tax work after that.  Oh no.....ha

RW - Thank you my dear friend.  That is great news about your knee.  Thank for the info on KIR's family and friend .  I will add them as well.  Thank for the e-mails.  I read them even if I am not very good at replying.

I can honestly say that this website was instrumental in my becoming a Christian.

I started out arguing on the theology thread as an atheist/agnostic...

But I asked a lot of questions on here..and I got answers.

I started listening to Christian radio a little bit.

Reading the Bible sections suggested by people on this website.

Still kept arguing and debating.

Went to the local church on Sunday to check it out.

Now I am a  member.  Have a new family and go to Bible study and other meetings, etc that the church has.

Everybody can become a Christian.  And Christians can help non-believers to see the light in many different ways.  Even over the internet on a sportswebsite.

I must question the atheists who argue everyday with the Christians here on several different threads.  If they are so sure there is no God, no Jesus, why bother?  WHY BOTHER?

I KNOW some of them will come to the right side.  I KNOW.

They cannot be at peace as long as they embrace nothing.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life Psalm 23:6

A devout poet sings:
LORD, when Thou
Puttest in my time a day,
as Thou dost now,
Unknown in other years, grant, I entreat,
Such grace illumine it, that whate'er its phase
It add to holiness, and lengthen praise!

Up till now goodness and mercy, like two guards, have followed us from day to day, bringing up the rear even as grace leads the van; and as this day is one of the days of our life, the two guardian angels will be with us today also. Goodness to supply our needs and mercy to blot out our sins -- these twain shall attend our every step this day and every day till days shall be no more. Wherefore, let us serve the LORD with special consecration of heart and sing His praises with more zest and sweetness than ever. Could we not today make an unusual offering to the cause of God or to the poor? By inventiveness of love let us make this day to be remembered forever.

Matthew 22:37-39

Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.

OGR, it is always good to see you posting even if they are in driveby's as you call them.

"Shall I ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall I redeem them from death? O Death, where are your thorns? O Sheol, where is your sting? Compassion will be hidden from My sight." - Hosea 13:14 NASB

Hundreds of years before Jesus lived and died, the prophet Hosea realized that all humanity lived in the shadow of death. The inevitability of death created a sense of hopelessness. Death, and its impact, had a "sting" that no one could escape. Yet Hosea foretold a time to come when death and the grave would be defeated.

Paul quoted Hosea in 1 Corinthians 15:55-57, when he wrote, "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" Paul said that "the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law."

In our physical lives, we still are plagued by this "sting." We see and feel its impact through sin in our lives-whenever we say or do the wrong things, or think the wrong thoughts. As long as we have to deal with sin, we will experience the "sting of death." It will prick us just like a bee sting. This is a real, "deadly weapon." We experience this sting every day through things like disease and pain, anger and aging, fear and worry, doubt and conflict.

However, as Paul wrote, Jesus changed everything: "Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." He came to free us from this sting, and the only way we can be free is to believe in Him. Let us thank Him for dying for our sins. Let's make sure He's the Lord of our lives.

Today, you can celebrate! Jesus died-for you! And He rose again! Through Him, you are free from the sting of death! Through Him, you can live in victory!

Father, thank You that I'm free from the sting of death! I celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus! Help me to live in Resurrection power. I surrender my life to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Father, in Jesus name, I come thanking you for allowing us to see another day, because some were not fortunate to rise today. Bless the readers of this thread. Heal where healing is needed. Deliver where deliverance is needed. Without you in our lives, we are nothing.Guide our every direction. The breath that we breathe comes only from you, and can easily be snatched from us. Be each and everyone of our strength. Strengthen us where we are weak. Our life is in your hands.

In Jesus name Amen......
