It looks like most of us have gotten over the NC loss... along with the not surprising departure of DC to God knows where.
But what about Twill, Earl, Sosa.... all of them staying or going?  Vote.

I know some of you have all the scoop on our incoming freshmen, so share with us all.

And does anyone have the scoop on Hollaway, Swopshire and Goode?

Its looking like Hollaway may never play another game on the hardwood again. If he didnt have surgery, he wouldnt be here. Even If the doctors give him the ok to play, I think it would be too risky. According to the Courier Journal, Goode will be playing this year after sitting out last. Swopshire and Delk could take the place of TWILL if he leaves. Pitino said Delk is probably the best athlete on the team! Its hard to believe that he's more athletic than Clark and TWILL but who knows. We have two big freshman coming in, Samuels and Jennings that arent like Pagett up on the high post. They like to stick on the blocks and take you one  on one. Clark said he will follow the advice of Pitino and stick around. Assuming that TWILL and Sosa come back, we will be just as deep as this year. Can anyone smell a final four in our future?

Heads up on DELK, i was at the beginning of the season's Red and White scrimmidge and he was a stud, he shot lights out, he reminded me of Larry O'Bannon.

Cards-ballin..... I was there too and Delk was impressive. I also remember him blocking one of Twills first shots....He has some hops.  He will bring energy in the same fashion that Preston Knowles does.

This team could very easily be a replica of the 04-05 team. Some Senior leadership, 4-5 experienced guys mixed in with some highly talented freshmen. Our post game will be very similar to having Ellis Myles in the post. Very athletic team. High scoring???? And play tough D?  Ohhhh babyyyyyyyyyyyyy

It looks like Derrick and the seniors are all that should leave.

Earl does not want to go and his parents agree with that.

T-Will is projected as a 2nd round pick in 2009 on www.nbadraft.net

I don't think that Sosa will leave. He can share time with McGee, Delk, and Jerry Smith. We don't have any point guards coming in and we are not going to get Tyreke Evans.

I think that Kyle Kuric will sign with us. He is a 6'5" guard from Evansville, IN. He's all-state and averages like 20 or 25 a game. A big white kid. He's supposed to be a shooter.

I think that Goode will be here. He played well in the Red & White scrimmage.

Holloway is a mystery. He had heart surgery and his academics are in question which is why he went to prep school. He will be like a 21 year old freshman. He was supposed to come in 2006.

Swopshire, Samuels, and Jennings appear to be really strong. We still have a shot at Melquan Bolding who would give us another combo guard.

You can read about the recruits at www.scout.com or www.rivals.com

This is a strong class to add to a good team!!!!!! GO CARDS!!!!

Melquan Bolding has been out of the picture for a while now.  He's looking at Cincinnati and some other Big East Schools.  Holloway will likely never play, which doesn't matter because we have two centers coming in.  Next year's roster will look like this:

PG: McGee, Sosa

SG: Smith, Knowles

SF: T-Will, Delk, Swopshire

PF: Clark, Goode

C: Samuels, Jennings

Other: Will Scott, Stuart Miller, Steiden

That's fourteen players.  I think you're allowed to dress fifteen.  So that would make room for Kyle Kuric.  Although Pitino may not be as high on him because we're set at SG for the next several years and we've got Mike Marra coming in for 2009.

Swopshire is supposed to have a very similar game to Francisco Garcia.  We can only hope.  And Delk is supposed to be a 6-4 version of his uncle tony.  Jennings has drawn comparisons to Amare Stoudemire, and I've seen Samuels play several times.  He looks pretty slow but very mobile and pretty polished for a young man with that size.  I doubt he'd be 5 stars for no reason.

If Holloway has Marphans desease, I don't believe he will be allowed to be involved in any strenuous exercizes, games, practices etc.  I believe we should all just pray for Clarence to have a great life and be successful in some other endeavor.  Great luck to you in all things.

Bolding is back in the fold BTW. He reconfirmed his commitment to the cards. Mirkovic is looking like he will follow Crean to IU, so Bolding is going to be a Card.

Good deal with Bolding, although I'd rather have Kuric.  He's bigger and a better shooter.  The recruiting blog on the C-J counted out Bolding but I see Scout has him still committed.  Will he be eligible next year?

I don't think that we're going to have much of an issue at any position next year.  I also don't think any under classmen are going anywhere.  They want to win a National Championship, and they know that the squad Pitino has in place will be a contender for the next few years.  I do think however that along with T-Will, E5, and possibly Sosa...they will all be gone.  We will have quite a few guys leaving after the 09 season, so Pitino is gonna be on the hunt for some strong top tier talent.  Hope we can put it together this season and make a hellova run.  I would love to see Padgett back with the Cards in 5 or 6 years as an assistant to Pitino.  Then we could see little Pitino as the Cards head coach for the next 20 years, and Padgette as the UK coach battle it out.  What a scenario

Personally I think little Richard is a long way from becoming a head coach.  If RP were to leave anytime within the next 10 years we would be better off finding someone else.

I don't think Sosa will leave after next year, but T-Will will graduate and E5 will likely be gone.  That would leave us with a pretty deep lineup still.  We're accumulating some talent, now all we need to do is go win some tournament games.  I'd like to see us win a BE title for a change.

I just talked to guy who heard on the Bob and Will radio show this morning, that there is a rift bewteen Sosa and Pitino.  Nothjing rock solid, but that Pitino has told Sosa that it will be His ( pitino ) way or no way.

Another rumor from the same show was that DC went in to talk to Pitino after the NC game, and Pitino wouldn''t see him.

Guys, these are just rumors, not facts. I didn't hear the show.

But, I have heard rumblings ever since late February that the Godfather is done messing around with Sosa. Either he gets his stuff together, or playing time will dwindle to nothing. Which make sense if you have Delk available next year. He could possibly still try and be a back up to McGee at point.....

As the world turns :)

Russ, I heard much the same here in Vegas and have read it on several other boards. I believe that Sosa belongs somewhere that doesn't play a structured offense and requires him to do very little defensively. The team doesn't need anyone who doesn't seem to be able to think on the floor on offense and play matadoor defense. I believe that Preston knowles really came of age offensively in the tournament.

As far as DC. I wish him well.

"I believe that Sosa belongs somewhere that doesn't play a structured offense and requires him to do very little defensively. "

Kinda like the NBA?  Joking aside, Sosa's future with this team is as a backup to McGee next year and a probable starter his senior year.  If he's not happy with that, then he may as well go ahead and leave.  I hear UK needs a new point guard.

Where was the confirmation of DC leaving?  Did Pitino say this?  I've read it numerous times already, including in the last LSR I think.

i don't know if im alone in this, but i really hope sosa stays and the beef pitino has with him isn't as big as everyone thinks.  i believe he can be the starter next year. he made huge strides this season although he still made a good share of bonehead mistakes.  look how twill vastly improved his junior season.  sosa will be a stud next year and hopefully he doesn't transfer.
