I don't get this. Who transfers from Duke? I mean, it was his own shooting that got him on the bench. Why leave after one year? Improve over the summer and come back even stronger for next year. Huge disappointment...

He doesn't know yet. But, it looks as if it will be either UCLA or USC. Two teams that wanted him first. He committed to UCLA before breaking that and going to Duke.
I also found this on another site.
-Steve King said his son’s decision was based on playing time this past year, and what his son expected next year.
"It came down to where he fits," Steve King said. "Duke is top heavy at his position (small forward). He’s a player, and players want to play."

Not good news for Duke and Coach K. This is becoming a recurring and disturbing trend here at Duke over the past few years. This all goes back to him not fully utilizing the talent he has, it's just a shame that they lose another McDonald's All-American. You know this is all about playing time, regardless of what anyone else says. I guess when it rains, it pours. To be quite honest, it's kind of pathetic. I'd pay huge money to find out what's going on in Coach K's head right now. I'd really like to know his strategy behind some of the moves/non moves that he makes. I know this guy is a legend and knows what he's doing, but sometimes, I'm not sure what reasoning he has behind making his decisions. Despite what Duke fans and college basketball fans think, this is a big hit for the program in more ways than one. When you really step back and take a look at this whole situation, how does this look for the Duke program? I can say with confidence, not very good. Oh well, maybe Coach has some magic up his sleeve? I hope so!!!

Taylor King being there doesnt matter at all. You WILL forget about him very soon after next season starts.. While he is a good player, there are better ones on that bench and next year there will be more.. He is a sharp shooter, but you guys already have enough of them.. His defense isnt that great, which is why his playing time was poor. He verbally committed to UCLA when he was in the 8th grade, but they have too many weapons for him to go there now.. From what i hear, he's looking at Villanova and Gonzaga.. Look at it this way.... It frees up a scholarship for you guys...

I heard he wants to play for a team that can at least make the Sweet 16 and that has at least 4 good looking girls on campus.

Deja vu to 2005 when Jamal Boykin and Eric Boateng both transfered from Duke to Cal and ASU. Boykin, Boateng, and King were all from the West Coast and didn't want to be far away from their mommies and daddies so they went back home.
My question is if Coach K can't keep kids that are already here at Duke, how is he supposed to recruit new kids to come to Duke? Maybe a question Johnny Dawkins can answer, if you know what I mean.
